Care for wild life & environment
by Ram A Sharma on Sep 29, 2006 10:32 AM  Permalink

In today's world almost everyone is only after more and more money hoping that it will make them happier. Increase in world population and per capita energy consumption in the name of development is causing all types of damages to the environment, wild life, plant life etc. Lot of development in the developed world has not made the people living there happier. Long term happiness cannot come from wealth and other possessions. Best example is that of Ambani brothers, who are not on talking terms despite having Rs 70,000 cr assets, due to money related dispute. Still people all over the world are following the western capitalist system blindly, which makes people more greedy. Hence firstly increase in world population has to be stopped followed by its reduction. Secondly there should be sustainable development without causing any harm to forests, other natural resources and wild life.

Cruelty and abuse in our blood
by Janardhanan on Sep 29, 2006 10:10 AM  Permalink

Abuse of animals is in our blood, it has even found place in our language. We say that "children nowadays are carrying schoolbags like donkeys"; if someone is deliberately made to face unfair situations, we call him a "scapegoat" or "bali ka bakra".

Sorry to say, but we have no idea of how to actually help wildlife. The maximum we can do is minimize our interference with wildlife (and I swear that even this is impossible for greedy humans, so over-ambitious that they do not have second thoughts over razing forests for profit).

Truly speaking, Nature would have done much better without humans. Humans are useful only to humans and a headache to all other species in the world. We are also a headache to nature as such.

Look at all the burning environmental issues, pollution, ozone depletion, global warming, ice cap melting etc .. All are due to human intervention.

There has never been an enhancement or improvement in nature after humans evolved. Even recent scientific study tells that "speciation", the ability for diversification has been affected in a bad manner due to human intervention.
'Agent Smith had rightly quoted"Human beings as a species is a parasite, a virus'.

It's the corrupt politicians
by Satish on Sep 28, 2006 10:43 PM  Permalink

Corrupt Corrupt Corrupt!!! Selfish, uncaring, unloving people. If you think about it, most ordinary people do not have any power to control this damage. The laws have to be enacted by the people who do have control. Who are those people. The great indian Government. Who do you have sitting up there...uneducated, uncultured, rude, ruthless, self-centered morons. Think...Lallu, Mulayam, Rabri, Arjun Singh, Mamta Banerjee, Ram Vilas Paswan, Sharad Yadav....all fit the bill. Do you all remember that Lallu is ruling the country and he\\\'s been involved in a 330 crore fodder same many many years ago. He\\\'s purchased medical degree for his daughter even without her going to a medical school? Think Dilip Singh..caught red handed by Tehelka for taking money "Paisa khuda to nahin, par khuda ki kasam, khuda se kum bhi nahin," . Rings a bell? It's Dilip Singh's recorded statement by Tehelka. What happens after that? Dilip Singh becomes a celebrity and Tehelka boss is in jail. That is the state of the country folks. It sucks. Have to deal with ANY government official in India? Go take your bribes along with you..otherwise you will end up going back with nothing.

Save Wildlife
by Pramod Ekka on Sep 28, 2006 05:11 PM  Permalink

Most of our Indian forests and reserve forests are invaded for selfish reasons to hunt wildlives. Wild life will be safe only if the forest is left to the tribals or locals to manage themselves. Govt or any other agencies intervension is always disastrous. What do you expect from the outside involvement in wildlife??? Waste of money.... First of reserve the forests in its original form... for this who cares today? Outside contracters and selfish politician are looter....Understanding of this nature will keep our forests and wild life safe....

To save the Wildlife.
by Atul Shirodkar on Sep 27, 2006 10:43 AM  Permalink

To save the wildlife first of all we should have drastic changes in the government itself. We should not have these old people in the minister seats who are doing nothing but just warming up their chairs.Lokking at the government of UK,US,Russia,France etc.. why dont we have young people there.Old people have to be kicked out now.Once new blood comes in the total view will change may be it is for wildlife or even the central government matters.
