Hi! Having read the article regarding Hugo Chavez's speech at the U.N., he comes across as one of the few world leaders who dare to call a spade a spade. The truth remains that in today's world the U.S is a hegemony, and is aiming for even greater political and economic clout. It is helped in its endeavours by a large part of the world either complying with its policies or unwilling to take an opposing stand due to possible economic gains. The ill effects of the U.S.' hunger for control is already being seen in the ongoing "War Against Terror". It says it's promoting democracy across the world. Any form of democracy which is facilitated by the killing of thousands of people is questionable and loses credibility from the start. What's frightening is that it is allowed to do so with impudence. Even before the War Against Terror began, the number of people across the world affected by the U.S.' desire to impose its wishes on other countries is not funny. In Mr. Chavez's speech lies a lesson to the Indian govt as well which needs to rethink its foreign policies such that our sovereignity is left uncompromised. We need more people thinking like Chavez in the world.
Chavez is right, Mr. Bush and the Americans should think back to last several decades - The astrocities and destruction caused by US led forces to human society - Start from Hiroshima Bombs, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palastine, Lebanon - Now chasing N.Korea,Syria and Iran.
Did the population and government of the above countries do any harm to the International community? US and their allies assume the threat and make it a reason to to seed the destruction of people and culture which they dont like.
If we take the middle east,Israel is on the front in most of the killing, and destroying the total infrastructure of neighbouring countries. They comfortably posess N.Bomb and Neuclear weapons. But UN the puppet in American hands, always bring sanctions on the other country who is destroyed by Israel. For examle, if at all, any sanction will come on the recent Lebanon war, it will never be on Israel but may be on Lebanon, Syria and Iran.UN has no guts to fix the responsibilities of such killings and destruction by US and their Allies. The situation should change, and we should treat the real problem which also, as a part, generates terrorists from the desparate section of people.
I dont support comments from the Venz pres, but to a extent he is right. Right from the day World war 2 ended, USA alwazs thought that N.power use was to show the world, that the superpower had now registered rigt to get into the political ballgame of every country, forced policy and reforms that suits its nation. Its stance on middle east and afghanistan has boomeranged on it. The fundamental question republicans mayb raising is...who created OSBinLad? Americans fought the communist russians...to condemn communism or was it a super powers powergame? How many people will die in Gods name ?
fantastic!! It requires world leaders of this kind to put the US assumed ownership of the world in right perspective. Yes Chavez himself may be a dictator, but frankly if his government was sought to be overthrown by the US and go back shamefacedly because the people of the country did not accept, then he is right in calling Bush a devil, honestly any country which has only bombs to show will stink of sulphur. The US themselves dance with these very same dictators and then want to overthrow them when they fight for their countrymen's rights. What kind of fraud is this that Chavez will give them all the gas at their rates to store and sell later, but cannot even expect fair rates for the same. That idea is excellent the UN should not be made to beg of the US for a living which is why they are unable to show justice to the countries that are unfairly exploited, move the UN!! Well said Chavez, long live meaningful dictators like you and Castro rather than dictatorial democracies. Saddam was unfairly beaten and UN could say nothing, all he did was to try and break the hegemony of the US Dollar and deal in Euros.
Leaders like Chavez are senile and they are fit candidates to be sent to mental asylum. However, how many would pay heed to fools like him. It is best he is left ignored. That way his sound and fury would have its natural death. Having said that, I wonder whether leaders addressing international forums like the UN should be tutored in do's and don'ts of yapping. Chavez, hands down, would qualify becoming its first student!
yes,the coment on the president of USA by Venizula president is true.BUSH IS AS DANGEROUS AS A DEVIL.Every one know that.He lied to his own people,to the world, at UN.ALMOST EVERY WHERE ,WHERE HE VISIT. so he don't have any moral to be a president, the USA CITIZENS TIRED ON HIS LIES.
Hats off to Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez! If I may be permited to say so, it is as if he took most of the words right off my tongue.
I am a person who has his convictions based both on intuition and who is totally devoted in his prayers of Universal Peace. The very day this person (Mr.Bush Jr) was elected. I decided, that people of U.S.A had made a terrible mistake (If I remember correctly it was a narrow win after a lot of politcal manoeuvring. He is not person with great and noble ideals. I have often felt he has handled International problems in a cavalier manner. I don't want go into details. Mr.Chavez has said enough V.Shrinivas
