This is an excellent article on Indian Government's inability to do something concrete in controlling the threat of jihadi terrorism. The steps initiated by the government emboldened some groups of people to take up anti-national activities to bleed India. This is high time for all Indians irrespective of whatever community they belong to demonstrate that the Government is wrong in attempting to please certain sections by endangering the national security itself.
All the indian politicians have shown their lack of political will and courage when dealing with terrorists or naxalites. Now our PM has one step ahead and started sympathizing with Mushraf. Also traditionally congress is very soft towards terrorists and if it comes to minority, they are very cautious of the political fallout.
As author righly said, we are sailing into a phase where we are too afraid to handle muslims and every action is aimed at appeasing muslims. God save India.
Mr. Manmohan Singh is an extremely good economist, but he hasn't come off at all as a PM. We need a strong foreign policy and we need a full time minister for this, who can take on the likes of Mushy and Bushy.
The whole UPA crowd is a company of inept guys like Arjun Singh, with few exceptions like Praful Patel. Laloo of course, has been a surprise package, but let's see how long he can keep the good work going.
The general was certainly with the Taleban and Paki terrorists coimg to Kashmir & may still have sympathies with them, but he has no choice due to US pressure, attacks on him by Jihadis, control of Pak territory by Jihadis where Pak military lost 800 soldiers fighting them & a general trend among people of Pakistan against continuing hostilities with India. Ironically he also has the support of Jihadi parties in his govt. & often tries to compromise with them. Pak was also rated 9th failed state recently due to its own internal problems & divisions (Punjabi-non-Punjabi, Shia-Sunni, Baloch, Afgans, tribals, Mohajirs), military & air-force fighting with its own people in its own territory, etc. So it cannot continue with Jihadism if it is to survive. That explains the Pak statement on Pope's quote about Prophet Mohd(PBUH). Unknowingly the Pope is making things difficult for internal problems of Pak. So cooperating to fight terror is mature and timely but we need to stress on sincerity form Pak. General may not want it, but fundamentalism is not going to die in Pak tomorrow and even his army and ISI colleagues will continue to support violence in Afghanistan & Kashmir for some time.
I had been a great fan of Mr Manmohan Singh ...that is prior to his visit to NAM and his talks with Musharaf.....i could not belive ...i still cant believe that he has decided to goahead with peace talks with Pakistan while India still sees her blood being spilled by Pakistan backed militants on a daliy basis .....Am sure he and Musharraf have the Noble Peace prize in sight.....its unbelievable.....What next ......hand over Kashmir on a platter or accompany all the arrested Militants to Lahore and release them ( a la Jaswant Singh) as gesture of goodwill ....
I fully agree with the views of the author.Let us accept we have a weak Prime Minister who doesn't know intricacies of intnl. politics and believes in each & every word of Musharraf? It is the same Musharraf who was the mastermind behind the Kargil War we fought with Pak not many years back. How can our PM forget the bloodshed of Mumbai a few months back where it was proved beyond doubt that the bombers were trained in Pak. How can Musharraf wash his hands off this blame and our poor PM believe each of his word. Our country should also be run by the Military for a few years so that we give Pak a befitting reply to their ever increasing senseless politics.
Yes, India is proving out to be a bunch of impotents, without having a clearcut policy on terrorism & foreign policy.
Just because some Muslims opposed POTA, it was abolished. Why ? It was applicable to all religion followers. Terrorism has no religion.
Why the same leaders remain silent when Terrorists bomb Delhi, Mumbai.
And now we are once again on a friendship path with Pakistan, who will never give away its path of terrorism. The wounds of Mumbai have been forgotten conveniently ibin the name of resillence (or impotence) of Indians.
Thanks to Pseudo-Secularism, Indians have become impotent. Everywhere Majority wins. Why Pakistan, Bangladesh are Islamic Countries ? Why they did not remain secular, though they had/have many Hindus?
Will our Muslim leaders oppose the injustice being committed on Bangladeshi Hindus? Will they please ask for stoppage of infilitration from Bangladesh?
