Pat for terror
by Sriraman Ramanujam on Sep 18, 2006 04:09 PM  Permalink

Well said Mr Raman. Nothing better can perhaps be expected from such a weak compromising govt. Even God may find it difficult to save our country.

Syndrome with no cure
by shiva on Sep 18, 2006 04:00 PM  Permalink

Excellent article, Sir. Somehow our PM has buried his head in the sand quite deep and it might take more Indian blood to take it out. It is shameful even to shake hands with dictator general musharraf who is behind the carnage in India.

Stockholm Syndrome's related to kidnapping & hostage situations
by avk on Sep 18, 2006 01:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As defined in wikipedia: The Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage exhibits loyalty to the hostage-taker, in spite of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed. Stockholm syndrome is also sometimes discussed in reference to other situations with similar tensions, such as battered person syndrome, child abuse cases, and bride kidnapping.

I doubt whether anybody has any sympathy towards suicide bombers, those who instigate them or people who commit terrorist acts which lead to loss of human life.

Dear Sir,
I am sorry for the grammatical errors which crept in due to my urge in immeditely replying to the article.
Some of them are . . domestic audience knew it but ( bit) .... ALSO ... world view is now ( not) bent in favour of India....( The brackets are the errors).
I also wanted to continue with the message but due to charachter restriction coudl not do so..
To continue with the Brahm + Vaishya element in the Indian soceity, Which has also invited disdain from the Countries neighbours like.. You Indians are all more interested in earninig than enjoying the wealth. What we talk of Bengalis in India ( Smart in talking, thinking and other mental faculties but worst action wise is the image the north have of them) Similarly we look at the Marwaris & gujaratis with the money oriented people. This are the very images the country carries about itself in the eyes of its militant neighbours and in the west. The Rajas element amongst us( The Khastriyas have lost their role in the soceity, The shudras - i.e. the Karmiks- People working with their own hands are also a deprived lot) Hence the ruling establishment consist primarily of the Brahm+ Vaishya elements. In the times ....

What else can we expect from such pathetic entity?
by Ramesh Joshi on Sep 18, 2006 12:46 PM  Permalink

Why are we surprised? This was predicted long ago Mr.Raman. What were the qualities of this person who is our prime minister? Was he selected because he is too intelligent and clever? Contrarary to that, he was selected because he is a meek guy who would not challenge the authority of Sonia Gandhi. He was selected because, he was NOT a threat! How can we expect the act of potency from this meek creature? The most heroic activity he did since he took oath as prime minister was to condemn the attacks on citizens of India. And i suspect he might have taken Sonia Gandhi's permission for doing so too. Let me put it in a little strong words. We have selected a party to rule, which has selected an "impotent" prime minister as it's head. What else can you expect from such pathetic entity?

Stockholm Syndrome
by vishvaksenah on Sep 18, 2006 12:45 PM  Permalink

Excellent article.

Dr.Manmohan Singh does have this Stockhol syndrome.

But he is not the only person with this problem.

Our beloved Bapuji , father of present day India had this syndrome. Most of his actions were a result of this malady which he had.As he is the father, all his children have inherited it .

Musharaf is the part of the problem, whether it is related to al-queda or pak terrorists. He has been sucessfully getting implied clean chit from indian leaders whenever western opinion about his dubious role gets stronger. We can give him the 'credit' as a master duper, taking the west and india for a free ride.

Visionless Government.
by S.N.Gaur on Sep 18, 2006 12:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I totally agree with B. Raman. The Govewrnment has lost its vision not only on terrorism, but also on many fronts concerning society. That is the difference between a popular Government and an appointed Government. Since it is an appointed Government, it cannot think or act independently. The P.M. has to see back for ratification of every decision. And retification from whom? Who do not know a,b,c about the politics or the nation. They may be expert in garnering votes by deviding the society. But they do not have any vision about the national security or its future.

They do not want to annoy Pkistan or Gen. Musharraf under a wrong impression that minority community vote bank will be shifted to some other group, if the government act hard. Totally a wrong impression.

Everybody, including the minority community people are confused as to what to do and whom to elect. There is no political will in any political outfit to think independently for the good of the nation and its people. Poor P.M. is no exception. Let us pray to god for the safety and security of common people.
