It is very sad muslims favors god morethan motherland. In such circumstanses, they are giving wrong picture "They can do things opposite to living country" if somebody interpretes Islam in wrong manner.
Vande Matram is a beautiful song in praise of Madare-Watan, India, in the first two stanzas and Vande has the connotation of Salam. Muslims should not and I think a very large majority does not have any inhibition to singing it. Musician A.Rahman has truely sang it as Maa Tujhe Salam. Opposition to singing it has been generated because now BJP wants it to be sung compulsarily by Muslims.
Being an Indian , I feel ashamed to hear that people want to call for talks to discuss the meaning of the word 'VANDE' after 100 yrs of the National song's creation!!!!
Clearly every Indian should know the meaning of the word 'Vande Mataram' and 'Jai Hind ' right from when he/she is in a cradle!!!!
Vande Mataram means - " Just One say " or "One choice" and thats FREEDOM.
So where does worship come here ?? it was a clear message to the British that we need only one thing - Complete Freedom and nothing else.
Such songs should be sung and encouraged , if people / leaders don't wake up and induce patriotism in the current generation , than 'Vande Mataram & Jana Gana Mana will come obselete within the next 10-15 yrs.
Patriotism should be our greatest value , to guard our greatest assets - freedom and Culture !
It is better that Muslims don't utter Vande Mataram if they don't want to or as they say are not allowed to by their religion.We don't need anybody to sing it.If you love your motherland that feeling is enough by itself.Muslims can be fanatical about an imported religion,but not about their motherland.Their concerns are about being sunni and shia not about being Indian.so why are we raking up these kind of useless controversies.

Dude, To comment on Janaganamana, learn the entire song. It says "Snehamayi tumi mata". From when a king becomes your mother?
Vande mataram is our national song. our constitution has given equal status to both 'vande mataram' and 'Janagana'. It is a fact that Janagana praises the british king and hence it should be replaced by our national song 'Vande mataram' by singing which makes every indian proud. Every citizen of this great country who is really patriot should sing it with due respect.
Those who think reciting 'vande' may disqualify them from Islam, let me remind them that they might have bowed to pick any think from earth several times.This doesn't mean that they have gone in SAJDA. Similar is the meaning of 'VANDE'. We respect our nation.Many thanks for the positive and fair remarks.
Don't make further issue. Any dicussion have views for expression. Better for this subject atlest media must not cover negative rather then positive for our great leaders. Just Vande Mataram by heart and singing in school would further strength India as Indian to be kept in mind.
Simply means 'Salute the nation'.. i am just so bored with these issues being brewed throughout the nation again and again... I think the public should never support these kind of political harrassment of our heiratge and and culture.Time is the witness of our history no matter the various invasions and cultural bombardments ...indian people have kept on living lives as friends/brothers..muslim/hindu/sikh/isaai and many others and cultures have blended.. I think every indian no matter his caste or creed should value the Indian heritage and tradition which is so rich and to that one has to understand 'Sanskrit', 'vedas','upanishads' etc.It is countless..I am sure everyone understands this is not religion but all talk about life and the way to live it..if people misjudge it as religious books then they are wrong.... There is just one thing to understand if one is Indian and is proud to be an indian then should be proud enough to sing Vande Mataram or Sare jahan se accha the same...and at the same time take some effort to understand its meaning..and also the era when these songs were penned. A person is born as a human and HUMANITY is what he should follow and practice
I wish muslim community should have such evenheaded leaders like sadiq rather than pro- islamic leaders who tries to build their political reputation by dividing the hindu muslim communities wider and wider.
