Since the last few years the number of Fatwas being issued in India, a secular country, by the so called protectors of Islam is on the rise. What is the relevance of these fatwas in a democratic country. Are these fatwas enforceable. If not, what is the objective of issuing these Fatwas. The imams and mullahs are extracting concessions from the government on one pretext or other. When the going becomes tough they black amil the system through fatwas and other stone age methods. Can government remain a mute spectator and allow these tyrants and fanatics to continue subverting Indian system. To begin with pampering should be stopped and no subsidy be given for performing Haj, as it is not the priority of any individual or government. Secondly all Madrassas should be closed down as they are the grooming centres for anti national activities .The source of finance to these centers should be identified and plugged. It is high time government wakes up or we may end up facing disruption of our civil system and social harmony.
Terming Maulana's dirty opinion to a "Fatwa" is disrespect of the word "Fatwa". These kind of people spread hatred among people on the name of caste and religion. If he is not constructive, he shouldn't be distructive.
It is strange that the Ulema while declaring some group as non-muslims has declared the marriage as void . It is understood what authority he could have to declare null and void some marrrigae of a group he as declard as Non-muslims. Is he competent to decide on the validity of a marriage a non -muslims . Is it not the interference of a muslim in the affairs of a non -muslim. ? If he can issue a fatwa against a none -muslim for having done marriage as a Muslim, why not he issue a Fatwa agains Osama who is engaged in terrorist activities in the nme of the muslim religon and defiling its image ? if he is not competent to do it why not any competent Muslim religious leader issue a fatwa aginat the man who is damaging the image of Islam when they Islamic world rose as one amn to condemn the publication of a cartton in of Prophet mohamed ? Is the act of osama acceptable to the Islamic world ?Osama slone can defile the image of Islam even though he is a non-muslim? The muslim scholars should think about it and act sensibly and and be faithful to what they say. Let them issue a fatwa aginst the terrorists who are killing people all over the world and defiling the name of Islam .
Oh god one more controversy...will this mullahs keep their mouth shut and let muslims decide themselves.First islam doesnt beleives in caste colour and creed so where the question arises of shias and sunnis,wahabais and etc.For heaven sake this mullahs have damaged islam and muslims a lot so its high time they just do what they were ment to do teach koran and please no more fatwas im getting fed up of them............
The title of the story is quite interesting..someone may have spoken the truth at last. However, Rediff would do well to interview muslim intellectuals and scholars in this matter rather than quoting some third-rate maulana bent upon creating divisions and fissures in the muslim community by their pronouncements.
Osama is neither a true Wahabi...nor a true Muslim. Only God knows whether his heinous and unIslamic acts in the name of Islam have taken him out of the fold of Islam. He has done more harm to Islam and muslims than all the Islam-bashers across the globe. Thanks to his strategies and tactics, Islam has never been so misunderstood as it is today - as a violent religion. No amount of show of affection and presentation of Islam by right-minded and rightly-guided muslims as a "religion of peace" seems to have any impact on the mindset of the average non-muslim brothers and sisters. One almost suspects he is kind of "devil-in-disguise" that Islamic scriptures and the Prophet pbuh warned about 1400 years ago who would be the biggest challenge to Islamic propagation...just check the statistics on Islamic organizations and activities in the US and elsewhere pre- and post-9-11!
