Bravo, Laxmidhar! And I thought all the NRIs were insensitive "Have-all"s not in any way connected with the grave ground realities of India. You prove that there's more to India than just software, soap operas and showbiz. News items like these are just meant to divert public psyche from the real issues. Why- nobody talks about this great country with it's greater rate of Economic progress keeps being embarassed about it's dropping male-female ratios, increasing number of people wallowing below poverty line and forever regressive record as far as human rights violations are concerned. The issues that concern these yuppies are films, soap operas, prices of cosmetics and computers!
India is great! Still greater are Indians! I knew this was bound to happen. An immortal, like Hanuman and other Gods, Netaji can never die.
Now exhume taht dead body and take it on a Rath round the country. Will be a great show of faith.
I am so overwhelmed. Wish I was this moment in our beloved India. By the way, have you read that news item - a dalit woman and her 17 year old daughter gang-raped and then killed? Near the same Nagpur.
Supposedly this man was Netaji, he wouldn't be 125 years old(Netaji was born in 1897). So if we think he might be Netaji, let's not mention 125 years!!
Why do people want to find the identity of this dead person. And moreover they are ready to exhume his body if needed. Why dont they let the dead man's soul remain in peace?
Netaji was born on Jan 23rd 1897. He would therefore be only 109 years old if here were still alive today. Please dont print junk articles like this without basic fact checking.
Because of the lax record-keeping and no mandatory registrations of births, marraiges or deaths, it's virtually impossible to verify the identity of anyone, the same reason why terrorists can go about the country without detection, especially with so many crooked corrupt netas and babus so willing to 'provide' the necessary papers for a song. Anyways, with DNA technology, it's easy to verify whether he's even related to Netaji, whose offsprings can provide DNA samples for testing.
