priyadarshini case

So the media instead of the judiciary will decide whether a person is accused or not! Its really shocking to find even before the verdict was made that Santosh singh was referred to as the person who had committed the crime. Do anyone have control over the media which refrains from showing dirty clashes in the parliament but shows 'prince' for continuous week.People who wer shouting for justice didn't realise that judgement is based on may facts and doesn't run on sentiments. This media hype has destroyed lives of the convict his wife and his children. The judgement will be reversed in the SC and people who have hyped it will bite the dust. Be aware media is the biggest goons today.

Not convinced if its Justice....
by shailesh on Oct 19, 2006 03:44 PM  Permalink

Hi All

Do we call it Justice..Yes its Justice and I am happy that atleast it came. But with such a delay and that too after such a long fight for the right cause, the agony, pain and mental torture/trauma underwent by Mattoo family, doesn't allow me to get much happy. Above this I also know that the convicted 'ld apply in Supreme Court and how long(if at all) will it take for the culprit to get punishment.

The crux of the matter is, that these things just takes away confidence from our Judicial system. Law is in hands if you have money or power. Even in the cases where everybody knows who is the culprit and who not, still the delay and/or denail of justice.

Got to say a lot but 'll the system change.....(I wish...).
When are we going to change our attitude and make our country a better place to live in....

Regards
Shailesh

Yes finally justice prevailed. If found guilty he deserves a death penalty for snatching away an innocent life.

justice
by kchallone on Oct 18, 2006 09:57 AM  Permalink

This is not good that the justice is given after such a long time due to lack of evidence, Though it is good that the culprits are nabbed, it should be considered that the people who were fighting the case from the culprits side and supporting the crime should also be convicted and penalised as they were supporting the misjudgement and the culprits deeds. If the supporters are not penallised the people will suffer as long as the judicial machinery also supports the culprits.

Mattoo case: Singh convicted
by labrea on Oct 17, 2006 10:49 PM  Permalink

Indian cops are so stupid, inept and incompetent, it's not surprisng that less than 5% of the cases end in a conviction. The concept of 'profesional investigative techniques' are totally alien to these idiots, and crime scene investigations using forensic analysis is as foreign to them as ethics or decorum. Anyways, at least in this case, the imperious lump of dung who thought because he's so well connected the law couldn't touch him, has finally got his just reward, at least until the SC either upholds or dismisses his further appeals.

Long awaited Justice!!!!
by Balaji Viswanathan on Oct 17, 2006 07:34 PM  Permalink

It has been a real battle to book the culprit and bring justice to Priyadarshini's family. All the more, this does prove to one and all that justice prevails and with the right support of those who stood by and not bowing out, it has been a great win. The support of media in this case has helped many of us to realize how powerful it is, if used effectively.

We still have many such battles to be won but we see light in the end of the tunnel.
