I am shocked to read your comments on a simple article. Our Honourable President Kalam is a man of vision. You do not need to have big degrees to be a noble man. To be a saint you do not require great educational qualifications. All that one requires is passion and love towards one's country. How many of us will have the guts to tell someone going on a scooter or a car not to smoke, not to use mobile etc i have hardly seen anyone in india doing that. And if you tell someone no one will support you in your endeavour. We as Citizens of our country take few leaves from the suggestion of oour president will do a lot of good to our country. Do you know a magician in kerala is just showing magics emulating the idea of our President. That is what is required. When one worhips Sai Baba or Ramkrishna Parmahamsa we do not ask what his qualifications to be an holy man. It is the deed and the passion which is more important than paper qualification. Happy Deepawali to you. S.Narayanan= Chennai
I am one of those millions of Indian citizens who respect Dr.Kalam, as President of India. Any person having been made a President has to be great. But, "greatest human being"??? Most certainly, No sir ! My country has had greater Presidents - more learned, unanimously chosen by all and not installed on political considerations, more mature, more presentable and graceful, speaking out more profoundly, and above all, a genuine article. To the best of my information, Dr.Kalam has no doctoral thesis on any subject to his credit for his doctorate. He shows great love and liking for children, but did not marry and can not know how one feels as a father and how a father loves his child. His 2020 vision of India is a pipedream, because many other already developed countries will surely make more progress than India because they start on a higher pedestal. The gap will in fact increase !He always gives an impression as if he is speaking without coprehending the full scope of what is talks. He shows undue and unjustifiable activism on some matters, and keeps mum on many burning issues and the nation`s anguish. But, he is better than some previous ones, and we may yet get a better one.

Be fair to the chair of the President. Well he is an idea man, See the various ideas he has given to each of our citizens then you will realize that this matter is important than anything else. Go to Rameshwaram and visit The House of Kallam then you will realize that he has not contributed to corruption. In fact the entire Rameshwaram could have been transformed by corrupt practices but he has stood there to see nothing happens by this way. He is only a President by nomination and if we want to root out corruption every one of us has to vote. Those 543 nos have to be taught a lesson and that can happen when there is a civil war in our country. That will happen when the rich is becoming richer and the poor is still becoing poorer. In india the role of our President is less and yer Our Honourable president has done is best to arrest the corruptive Practices of many past presidents. SN
Sri Rajan is honest enough to admit he has benefitted enough thru Dr. Kalam. There are followers of Sri Lalu who worship him and have written books in his praise. There are people who worship Mayawati. Dr Kalam being the first a technical person to reach this height was expected to have initiated certain processes/steps that would bring efficiency in the system of government. Corruption is opposite of efficiency and truth. Is there any reduction in the extent and spread of corruption during the regime of Dr. Kalam. India continues to be placed the highest in corruption in the comity of nations. Dr. Kalams ascendency to presidentship is a triumph of India's secularism and democracy. But what has Kalam's tenure given? Is it not a great opportunity lost?

May almighty God shower His blessings on you that you may be in good health and serve the Indian country. Many Many happy returns of the day and I wish you "Ad Multos Annos"
This piece from Dr. Rajan is evocative. Dr. Kalam is a unique President of this democracy. This July, he came for the Platinum Jubilee of my school in Orissa where I was a student more than 40 years ago. The weather was cyclonic, and he could not take the helicopter flight from Bhubaneswar on the scheduled day. But he insisted on being there the next day, weather permitting. He did not want to disappoint a thousand school children. He was there 24 hours later, creating a kind of history in the annals of Rashtrapati Bhawan till today. I left my car at the hotel and walked all the way to the playgound of my school.

There is no doubt that Abdul Kalam is the best President, India ever had, very patriotic and humble.
He has dedicated his entire life for the progress of India.
He is very efficient and technology Savvy, which makes him class apart from other Presidents we have had. He is also very simple, sincere, dedicated, honest and his integrity beyond any doubt.
His love and affection for the people especially for the children is unparalleled.
I am strongly of the view that he deserves a second term, since India needs a person like him at the helm of its Affairs.
May he live long and continue to guide the affairs of India for many years to come.
Your Birthday is a memontous day for every Indian. As President of our great nation, you have symbolised one religion, the religion of supreme knowledge to make India super power.A true patriotic son of our Mother India,as you are,the best tribute any Indian could pay is to sing in one voice---MANY MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY .
