My sinceremost congratulations to Kiran Desai for winning the Booker & bringing laurel to India. She has proved to be a perfect dauhter to an eminent mother who counts among the bestknown Indo-Anglican writers.Keep it up Kiran.
Just goes to show that in spite of modern day gadgets & teaching aids the influence of parents in moulding your destiny can hardly be exaggerated. While the realisation of this fact is important for the younger generation who should have the attitude to absorb & assimilate, the older generation should also bear this in mind and conduct themselves as ideal role models.
well done kiran, its proud to be an indian,i was happy ,when i saw you ,winning the prize, youre mother is really a good strength, for you,and she is really preety, and intelligent and so are you,i am happy for you.from cynthia.
inspite a critical, but more precisely crusial relationship of being mother and daughter they being a very good friend more over a good humanbeing. A wowen behind the success of another women is a rare factor.
Kiran has done a commendable work. The proud mother has a famous daughter. Both are made for each other. In fact both shares the pride for the award.Mutual inspiration is the key to the achivement.Abisha aseervatham
Dear Mr. Mahendra, Kindly appreciate the remarkable achievement by this lady who has brought pride and honour to or country. Her mother is writer. She has probably inherited these genes from her mother. Please leave your chauvinistic tendencies behind and see life in a bigger way. It isn't bad to appreciate a mother.I think that only a remark like "Where is Mr. Desai?" without a word of appreciation for these women only shows that you are a spoilt sport. I hope you have read the article. You are supposed to share your comments after reading it. I like the article and kudos to Kiran desai for doing us Indians proud.
It is wonderful to know that your mother has been such a great mentor. What about the male influences in your life? Do you feel enriched by their presence?

This is an article about two talented people and how they write their books. Not about their private life, and specially not about male chauvinism.
