Chiken Gunya and Dengue
by Velugondaiah on Oct 10, 2006 04:58 PM  Permalink

The Governments are moving from Service to Busines attitude. Goverments are looking at the revenue models in all the aspects and forgotten of providing basic eminites to the citizens like safe driking water, removal of garbage on the streets, dispensaries to the poor people etc.

That is why all these dangerous contageous diceases are broken out.

In Tamilnadu
by Saran on Oct 10, 2006 04:57 PM  Permalink

In my village, most of the ppl affected by chikungunya. some are getting treatment from the private hospitals and clinics and some of them getting the treatment from the staff nurse who is living in my village. But, I don't see any steps taken either by the government to prevent. Because both ruling party and opposition party is busy on blaming each other. One party is saying that lot of ppl are affected by chikungunya and another party is saying that no chikungunya in Tamilnadu.

Luckily the people are not really expecting the govt to do something abt this chikungunya. They are more used for the pain caused by chikungunya and claiming that no medicine to cure the pain and no choice must live with that.

tragicomic situation
by mahanty on Oct 10, 2006 04:57 PM  Permalink

the neglected sphere of public health sector in india has its venegance and retaliation reflected in new forms of viruses spreading from kashmir to kanyakumari . they are so democratic that they does not discriminate between rich and poor . even our beloved PM's grand children being the patients of dengue ...our country's prestige at international level will definitely fall. we say big things but are poor practitioners. we have filthy rich and horribly poor both not concerned with healthy environment, we have over obase urban neo rich and undernourished rural masses who have no sense of clean and green, we have health ministers and medical directors who are busy in petty politics power games when the whole capital is chilled with the dengue scare. such an uncivilised society with farcical modern look ... one can't see anywhere else in the world. shame...shame.

as above

unless the sanitary conditions improve and the administration wakes up to face the reality of dirt and filth it would not be possible to get rid of all such diseases. Public also has to be taught daily lessons on health and hygiene.if all of us could keep our areas clean then perhaps we would be able to get rid of such epidemics.Inspite of administration's various claims neither the rubbish is disposed off nor any spraying / fogging ever takes place

Dengue and chickenguniya
by Jain on Oct 10, 2006 04:53 PM  Permalink

I don't think only Delhi and Kerala are mostly affectred. Infact in my visinity in MP, each and every family is sevearly affected,by chickenguniya. In each family atleast one or person affected, but govt. is nowhere, although there response so poor that private prectisioner are giving treatments of the major part of the society even they don't know how to treat. They are providing mix treatment of Malaria, typhoiad, hey fever etc. ,which is major cause of casulaties.
