This further highlights the incompetence and ineptitude of the police, and the failure and inadequacies of the legal system, which if not reformed, will only lead to more such attacks, as the perpetrators will feel they can get away by denying everything in court, as the lazy, stupid, unprofessional cops rely primarily on 'confessions' obtained during interrogations rather than carrying out proper investigations to provide concrete evidence that can stand up to the scrutiny of the courts.
