N Korea claims first ever N-test
by Abhinav on Oct 09, 2006 03:00 PM  Permalink

The test is not much of a surprise. US has bullied N Korea enough and considering what happened in Iraq, the actions of N Korea is rather expected. Would US have attacked Iraq if it had nukes? Certainly not. Why should nukes be priveledge of West powers only? Is it some sort of "Divine Rights of West"? Left to itself, N Korea would not have taken any such action.
The nukes are a dangerous weapon, especially in the hands of nations like N Korea, Iran. But matter should have been handled by UN and not US. The double standards followed by US in regards to its foreign policies are leading world to a disaster. That N Korea has been helped by Pakistan and China is beyond any one's doubt. But US has turned a blind eye to this and now is shouting that N Korea is a rogue nation. Going by what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, US is the current rogue nation in the world.
US has no right to shout over N Korea. It can not escape what it did in Japan. If it wants to take a moral right and set an example, it should destroy all its nukes and then come to table for discussion. The tests have atleast prevented any American adventure in NK and an all Korean war.

Nuclear test (world's attitude towards N Korea)
by misbah on Oct 09, 2006 01:21 PM  Permalink

where is IAEA, the watchdog agency, whose purpose is to stop the world from getting equipped with nuclear weapons. the US is threating Iran, that wants to use nuclear energy for power generation(as claimed by Iran) and US and Israel are determined to attack Iran. this is the policy of UN(US) to threat the muslim countries by imposing sanctions and attacking them like Afgahnistan, and Iraq. now US must say that it will attack NKorea becaues NKorea is trying to get nucklear Bombs.

Ban to be first imposed on America
by Rajiv on Oct 09, 2006 11:15 AM  Permalink

It is good that North Korea did not succumb to the unjust pressure of America and its allies. USA is the only country in the history of mankind that has misutilized its nuclear capability to kill hundred and thousands of innocent people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but is still going ahead with its nuclear program. Ban or sanction, if any is to be imposed, it should be first imposed on America and then on others.

North Korea is Nuclear
by K V Narasimhan on Oct 09, 2006 10:29 AM  Permalink

Paksitan with its admirable son A Q Khan have created unenviable company for them. Now it is upto the sole superpower to udnerstand its limitations and fine tune its strategies for its survival and peace. We must ponder over UN's/ NPT's ineffectiveness.

North Korea clearly showed us, how even a small nation can stand up and not feel threatened, however dishonourable their intentions are. It is slap on those wanted to dictate the destinies of other nations while not sparing a moment to care for the hapless millions doomed to die in poverty.

No doubt technologies & patent can drive growth. Pursuit of development without equity (humanism) will create more North Koreas where deprived people will use all at their means to put in place those who want to win the development game.

Reunification of Koreas should now become World's a priority to alleviate the poor in North Korea. The Germans had shared their growth when they reunified. They bought peace albeit with lot of upheavals in their society during adjustment phase.

Isolating North Korea is no solution but reunification will go a long way to arrest wayward tendencies one finds in North Korea.
