PM's Trust -
by Bala on Oct 05, 2006 12:52 AM  Permalink

The PM is a functional head of a democratically elected Parliament. He should remember that he is not from the majority political party i.e. the Congress. He has the support of other political parties. The other political parties in order to keep their Chairs support whatever the PM says and does. As long as their own power centred chairs are in place. He shows scant or no regard to the Opposition. Their demand to make public the statement the joint statement details at Havana has not been acceded to. It is the National Security that is involved. The opposition should and must be respected and given its weightage in matters affecting national security. He cannot act individually disregarding the opppsotopm at least in matters of National Security. It is high time the Army should wake up and protect its national interest with the support of the elected opposition. Then only the PM will come back to his sense. How can PM be trusted with National Security when he does not trust the Opposition.

We can criticize PM or any elected bodies in any place and any time...
by SRKPRIV on Oct 05, 2006 12:36 AM  Permalink

I think it is for someone to say where and when a PM or a person who holds a office of high esteem can be criticised or disagreed with and things like that!. And especially with this PM who is more SELECTED than ELECTED! we can surely disagree with him If we dont disagree with him in right avenues we are ones who will lose eventually!.

It is the inherent right of peoples in a democracy to criticise when they dont like something!

Well Written for RSS
by J M on Oct 05, 2006 12:14 AM  Permalink

The article would have been highly appreciated if the writer remained neutral. He chose the moral higher ground in the intial paragraphs to build expectation to stoop down to a typical RSS flavoured article in the end. I may have agreed if he had condoned the highly objectionable and insulting behaviour of Sangh and its cronies against Sonia Gandhi. Not because she is from the Nehru Gandhi family or from the Congress but she is a woman. She plays politics to the dismay of others very well - match her game with respect. I would love to have the Jan Sangh back, their ideologies matched India's expectations, there was hope in their leaders, but it did not survive and evolved into a state where the successors are as corrupt as the Congress.
