Good article
by Priya on Oct 05, 2006 11:37 AM  Permalink

Resp. sir,

You raised a very pertinent question in your article. There should be mutual respect between Indians irrespective of their ideologies, religion etc. Common minimum agenda amenable to all political parties (representing all sections of ppl) need to be followed in case of external affairs and internal security. There can be no compromise there. We currently see an unfortunate state of affairs where the Govt. responsible for internal security is supporting clemency for terrorists, removing bans on known terror supporting organizations in India. Also, there is an increased intolerance towards the majority religion in an attempt to garner min votes. It prob is time we unite and assert ourselves against this kind of discrimination.

Priya

Good Article
by Om Prakash on Oct 05, 2006 11:35 AM  Permalink

That was an very intresting article. Its true that patriotism is not a property of anybody who is in power nor is the values of Mahatma Gandhi or Netaji.

Its well said that when a party in power at centre should always consult all parties including parties which were in power when formulating important decesions generaly foreign policies

Manmohan is not agresssive or decisive
by manav on Oct 05, 2006 10:43 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Manmohan should be replaced by Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi as the next PM.

Sonia Gandhi is the most suited person to head Indian Govt.

Madam Sonia Gandhi is a very balanced person

Mr Manmohan Singh may not be agressive but he is decisive. A thoughtful person does not make a decision without examining the pros and cons of his decision. His decisions may seem to be out of tune with the prevailing informed public opinion but it does seem to consider the political realities on the ground.
In the existing coalition his is the voice of moderation. And under the very trying circumstances of being subject to the diverse pulls,he has managed to do a commendable job in the Economic field.
In Political Management too, he has shown that he holds his own counsel. Unfortunately, the political environment has no use for a civilised and moderate persons. Our electorate prefers charlattans and crooks over gentlemen.
Destiny has been kind to this country, else there would have been an elected tyrant blustering his way and creating more chaos than it is now.
It is the job of the opposition to expose the non performance and faulty actions of his colleagues rather than pick on the only man who can deliver.

The Saffron Sinner!
by Ruxak on Oct 05, 2006 06:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Powerful democracies like the US are such because as a nation they have been able to identify the bigots like the Klu Klux Klan and isolate them from the mainstream. Their unwritten code of conduct permits Hindus to freely profess and propagate their religion in the US whereas in India our bigots come up with anti conversion laws targeting the same Christians on their right to practice and propagate their faith. Their physical attacks on their religious places and people happen all the time. To strengthen India too we have to neutralise our home grown bigots.

How does one take an Opposition into confidence which has taken its nomenclature seriously and opposes everything to make governance of the Country difficult?

The saffron sin in need to be rooted out like cancer is ejusdem generis the prevention of Minorities their basic human rights to follow/propagate their religion, Pogroms run on state patronage like Gujarat, inhuman acts like burning to death a missionary and his infant sons, draconian laws like anti conversion instead of governing the States they have been elected to rule, their version of nationalism where anyone not agreeing with them anti-national and the list goes on!

Ruxak, you have exposed your own identity, i.e., anti national. You may read what V.R.Krishna Iyer wrote about the curse of 'Minoritism' in India.- Tapan Ghosh

Joke of the decade!
by Tamilarasan on Oct 05, 2006 05:23 AM  Permalink

Sir, Deen Dayal Upadyay and swami Vivekanada were not former prime ministers or presidents ,so maybe their photos were removed. As for the civil aviaton minister "nobly permitting" the photos of former prime ministers,Rajiv Gandhi and P.V.N.Rao to hang in his office, what's a big deal about that, they were the elected heads of the country! Advani had Sardar's photo hanging over his head because every one knows that the sardar was the only hindutva element in the congress. And an RSS spokesman speaking against writing hate material with acid filled pens is the joke of the decade!

Change of Rediff name.
by Selvapandian on Oct 05, 2006 05:05 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We all feel that its time for Rediff to unmask itself and change its name to RSS.com!! So it can be visited by only the hindutva indians! All the articles are highly inflammatory and anti-non brahmin, anti-backward class ,anti-minority etc.

To Selvapandian,

which specific sentence in this article did you find anti this and anti that?

You are so blinded by anti-Hinduism that you see threat in even a nice article that asks for harmony between political parties. What is wrong in asking for that?

Can we trust Commies ?
by userwas on Oct 05, 2006 02:35 AM  Permalink

Can we trust the communists ? The answer is NO.

Their loyalty lies to China and Russia. This has been proven many times since Indian independence.
