Karnataka Bundh.
by vydhyanath on Oct 08, 2006 03:43 PM  Permalink

We donot know where Karnataka is going to end up. Why don't we have who can really think and work for Karnataka and keep aside these DG and his henchmen including his family having a wonderful background for all possible swindling the scarce resources of Karnataka.

All these Bundh and other such nefarious activities are the creation of these political stooges to divert the attention of the people .

Unless people sit tight and fight against this anti state elements, I fear, there will not be an end to such Bundh's which creates loss to the state in hundreds of crores. Ofcourse, DG and family are least bothered about the loss to the state for already they have enough resources from the state.

When are we growing up
by Rajeev on Oct 04, 2006 09:15 PM  Permalink

When are we going to grow up into sensible citizens ?

How long is this bullshit going to be tolerated ?

What difference does it make if a place is in Karnataka or Maharashtra ?

I give up trying to bring some sense into our people.

It's impossible.

Its Time that Maharashtra and Center learn the Democracy
by kumar on Oct 04, 2006 07:51 PM  Permalink

Its time that Maharashtra and Center learn the Democracy and behave.

If Centre cannot take a stand, let it remain nuetral on the issue rather than acting as an agent to Maharashtra.

Its the same feeling that karnataka has towards Belguam, as we Indians have towards Kashmir.

How much of a difference would redrawing the state boundaries make on the people living there? The rains would still fall only with the blessing of nature, so will the rays of the sun and the gentle breeze.

Karnataka Bundh
by Krishna Prasad on Oct 04, 2006 06:17 PM  Permalink

When some other states observes bundh everyone takes it their strides. But when Karnataka observes bundh that too for a genuine reason everyone tries to raise their illegitimate voice. Its high time karnataka start raising their voice. Maharashtra's claim is illegitimate and unreasonable. Going by the language if one goes to sholapur and other areas in maharashara majority of them speak kannada still we are keeping quiet and not raising voice like unassertive maharashtra.

State of Karnataka
by R on Oct 04, 2006 06:14 PM  Permalink

By calling the Bandh, Kannadigas have put no pressure on the Centre, instead they have earned another bad name for the state and its thriving industries. Looking at it from an outsider's perspective, all I can say is by calling a bandh, the state has lost hundreds of crores of rupees in terms of lost man hours. Why are we so hung up on political issues? Why has no group called a bandh because the state government sucks big time. How come no one protests when news came that Devagowda owns acres and acres of land in Bangalore. How come no one is concerned that we cannot forever ride on the IT industry simply because things were good in the past. Continue with apathy and we will end up losing all industries from the state. Then we can all sit and protest on our misfortune!!! It is sad that not one of our political leaders care for the genuine concerns of the state. And dancing on the signals of such incompetent fools are even worse groups that call bandhs and strikes at their whims and fancies. I am a patriot alright, but I just cannot see any justification in what this bandh seems to have achieved except losses to the state.Jai Karnataka!!!

K'taka:Bandh affects normal life
by Vishal Mishra on Oct 04, 2006 12:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What is the logic behind blacking out non kannada TV Channels. Is this Bandh against rest of the Indians or indian languages.

This Bandh would further divide kannads and non kannads and only hatred will prevail if this is the way agendas for calling protests are choosen.

STUPID AND USELESS ACT BY BUNCH OF SUCH PEOPLE

Before calling somebody stupid try and guage yourself. Go to any other state they dont allow other language channels except for one or two even on the normal days. Why you raise your voice only against this. Infact we allow all other languages freely in karnataka. Go to anyother state you cannot survive there without knowing the local language.

I feel your act is height of stupidity since its outrageous.

Mr. Mishra,
What's wrong if the cable operators are showing solidarity for a kannada cause. It's a peaceful way of protest. Can't you forego watching TV for one day? As for the rift that you talk of between locals and non-locals, it's the duty of the outsiders to adjust to the way of life in Karnataka, not the other way round. After all you get the best treatment here. Try acting smart in Chennai. Kannadigas are known to be very soft and gentle people. If adjusting to local culture is such a big problem for you then go back to your UP or Bihar.
