There were no deaths in Reunion directly relating to Chikungunya, although over a 100,000 people affected.
I seriously doubt if this disease is mortal, unless the current strain of virus is mutated. Media should wait for results from research labs before creating a panic.
Indian Government is not doing anything to prevent Chikunguniya. In Vidarbha 80% population of each village is affected by chikunguniya. Doctors in village is treating under tents as they don't have facility to kept peaple. Central and state govt. is not worried to prevent. Peaple are not known how kill these mosquito.
I too got this fever last time when I was in India, it occured frequently and therefore I decided to go back to England as I spent most of my holidays in sickness and my plan was all scrwedup.
I was so frustated by the muncipalties and local healthcare carelessness even though thousands were reported to have infected but nothing was being done.
Always govt. starts taking measures when everything goes extreme, why can't tackle it when at the begining stage?
