It is true that South is far better than North but presentation analysis of mr.Srinivasan is biased and north Indian chauvinsm one can see in his attempt.
Though I do not completely agree with the entire content of the article, let's face facts... South has been doing well in the last decade or so, in terms of international recognition, economic and cultural achievements. It is mainly because of the tremendous importance given to higher education in the South and also because of some of the earlier state governments who could foresee the future in the IT software. Now, no one is trying to belittle the credentials of the North.. Northies have better business acumen and have been consistently doing well in the industrial sectors. So, it is a question of seeing the positive thing in everything and move towards betterment. Let's be united always and work towards a better India...
i completely agree with the writer. It is due to upholding of traditional values and importance of education that south is much more successful than north India.
I agree. The awareness of the need for higher education/Technical education is fast spreading in the South and this is contributing in no small measure for "Doing well".
I more than please read such an articles which helps me to understand further about India. Although reading in papers on the wonders of south India\'s economics performances but this article has given me further insight.
My forefathers come from madurai settle in singapore, my father was an illiterate but hard working father & mother and learn to read and write tamil ( till now ) only in singapore, we were born in singapore with deep rooted tamil culture educated in english and with must impeccable spoken and written tamil.
Although India per se is not homogeneous society like china though having different dialect groups but china is united with same major festivals and language mandarin.
Whereas the language and culture changes every mile in india, this being said though my nationality is singaporean but my race is Indian and name spelled in tamil language clearly indiactes in our identitiy card of their respective race and langauage.
To add, tamil is one of the main official language in Singapore - its the only country in the world apart from various places where tamil is spoken.

1.What about Egyption, Mayan,Inca civilizations? 2.What culture does Australia,US,Canada,tiny Singapore has? 3.What happended in this country some 200,300 years back,when we were clinging to OUR CULTURE even more? The south or west is doing well because of number of economic,social,geographical facors except culture.It is also futile to talk about such things when the disparities amoung the people are widening at an alarming pace.I am also happy and proud to see Indian companies doing well and aquiring firms abroad. But the point here is there is no purpose in glorifying the corporates when the country has the largest illitertes in the world,low ranking in Human Development Index(along African Countries),etc. Are you aware that Srilanka has better indices in spite of civil war for 25 years? Therefore, the need of the hour is to talk about Improving the standard of living of the people whether Northeast(why you people always forget them?),north,West or South.
hi ! i agree with your idea. but majority of your statement shows that U R anti-muslim anti-christian. these two schools also might have contributed to our present india, in a possitive way. a thourough research is needed in these lines.
