Sri,
May be your census was right. May be south is making more progress. But definitely your article shows bias and prejudice, and is (probably intended to be) provocative. Please shed your extreme views.

Sir, Please cut the crap...May be you did not know that census was taken in south india and as usual the hypocrat north indians did not reveal them. Stop the nonsense. Agree that we are better.
Interesting point of view. But as true as the "master race" argument put forth by some others before.
Some states have done more for their people than others. Within the parameters of a corrupt environment, some states have provided a better business environment instead of giving free milk or having loan melas.
The southern states and Gujarat and Maharashtra have been luckier in that respect than say West Bengal. To say that the prosperity in the south is because Madrasis (purely as an example) are "more Indian" or "more hindu" or "more tamil" or whatever than Bengalis (purely as an example) is an argument that is very weak on data.
Rajeev has made some excellent comments. North India is currently in an advanced state of degradation, and I am saying that despite being a North Indian. I hope Southies continue their advance in technology and business, as well as explore more in politics, especially at the national level. Knowledge of Hindi would help them in that regard as majority of North Indians do not know English...

U seem to be one of those who jus like to call yourself a north indian and not INDIAN.
South is doing well now. May be a decade from now, North will be doing better. You are using "ancient history" arguments as a reason for the progress of the south. I think you are making things too complicated (may be you have a purpose for doing that!). I think the reason for North's lagging behind is simply the corrupt politicians.
1) Some south Indians say they are "more" Indian 2) Some north Indians say they are "real" Indians 3) similarly, some hindus claim to be more indian than the muslims, sikhs, etc.
Let us all accept that events like invasions are things of the past now. The modern India is a democracy. This is not an era of kings, rulers, invasions, wars, etc.
In our democracy, every Indian citizen is as Indian as any of his fellow citizens, irrespecitve of his being Hindu, Muslim, sikh, christian, south indian, or north indian.

we give more stress if we are not sure. i am INDIAN. proud of india. it is truth. so i need not repeat it.
hindu-sikhs are always united even during dark days of terrorism. so there is no necessary of calling for hindu-sikh unity. it is necessary to stress on hindu-muslim-christian unity.

Oh CV, uv found a way to develop a state.. ask ppl to stop using words like mulk n muhabbat, and ur state will shine.. and btw, these very words r used very commonly in Hyderabad, AP, a state u thought is shinning
Wake up!. It's time to compete with our South Indian brothers. Don't let this article misled you by statements like "South India is the most Indian part of India". Rather take it as a challenge that we have to stay at par with the south and have to uplift the poor of N. India.

Jeffrey Armstrong founder of Vedic Academy of Science and arts predicted over 20 years ago that Silicon Valley would be overrun by Indian innovators and engineers, no one believed him. Today, his prophecy has come true manifold.
I based my forecast on the fact that Indians have a very strong Sanskrit background, he says. Sanskrit being the perfect language for computer programming, I was confident even then that Indians would outshine others in computer innovations.
His next prediction is equally interesting: India will become a superpower in another 20 years, even earlier if Indians propagate their culture and legacy effectively in the West.
This is why areas of Gujarat, Maharastra, Bengal, KA, AP, TN, KE are shining. BIMARU speaking dirty anti-sanskrit words like mulk, mohobbat, takareeban, saja-e-mouth, mughal-e-ajam are lagging behind.
While most of your article is well written, there are some logical flaws which most people may not identify (and that's why most people get misled so easily!).
For eg. your statement "..the South is doing well precisely because it is the most Indian part of India".
In your article, you are referring to "India" as what it was 7000 years ago. That means you are giving more importance to what it was 7000 years ago THAN what it has been in the last 7000 years. Isn't that illogical?
