by rahul pandey on Dec 10, 2006 06:52 PM  Permalink

THey should be punished by aking away their driving licence if they havent commited any crime. or if they did, then should be punished like the criminal in the same catogary. for example if they killed someone than they should be treated like a killer.

Why is reckless driving not considered intention to murder
by samson on Nov 24, 2006 10:50 AM  Permalink

when it is clearly evident that reckless driving can kill, why is it not considered "intention to kill" unsuspecting innocent people?
A drunkard behind the wheel is a threat to others. So it should be considered a serious crime, and if anyone is killed by him, surely he deserves the treatment of a murderer. There is no reason to consider what happened was merely an accident.

How to punish drunken drivers?
by alexander on Nov 21, 2006 07:42 AM  Permalink

Yes it is true that drivers drink but they have wheel concious, they may drink untill or till the deadend(deadend means untill they are unable to drive). But after the deadend they refuse to take wheels. No driver want to risk his life and drive over drunken.
One simple fact is that over drunk man cannot walk properly on the road but he can drive safely and reach home.
but how accident happens?

yes allover india the scenario is people sleeps on the footpath/road when they donthave enough space in their house.and when accident occurs you leave the road sleeprs and arrest the drivers.is it correct.
did the drunken driver ram his vehicle into anybodys house and killed its occupants ? NO then why punish drivers.when accidents happen in daylight does anybody say about drunkness. No
SO I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT DRINKING AND DRIVING SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AS A CRITERIA FOR ANY PURPOSE.
