The political leaders should devote their energies to eradicate poverty rather than wasting their energy in changing good city names into bad ones.

bengalooru

this is nothing but cultural chauvinism. if in your heart bangalore should be bengalooru, then be happy to call it so. why make an official change that will cost so much to so many. we are losing sight of the overall picture. this is not going to change the woes of our city overnight.

Bangalore

It is so funny that the politicians stoke such useless sentiments. It is idiotic to change the name of such a nice city. Anyway Bangalore is not as it used to be. It is not beautiful anymore. So it is fitting to use the changed name. But be sure that the old beauty with its name will remain in many people.

Bangaloor
by Martin on Nov 02, 2006 02:11 PM  Permalink

A rose by any other name would smell as good- to quote Shakespeare. Bangalore by any other name would smell as bad!. What's the big deal changing the name when it still smells like fart!! Is the govt listening?
