Whats in a name? Life is going to be just the same in banglore.or bengalooru. I am a native of chennai now living in bangalore since 2 years. Really nothing changed when Madras became Chennai.
this is nothing but cultural chauvinism. if in your heart bangalore should be bengalooru, then be happy to call it so. why make an official change that will cost so much to so many. we are losing sight of the overall picture. this is not going to change the woes of our city overnight.
Most fo the best brand companies have changed there name ove time. So the Brand Bangalore can never get effected. It is good to build your brands along with the heritage.
It is so funny that the politicians stoke such useless sentiments. It is idiotic to change the name of such a nice city. Anyway Bangalore is not as it used to be. It is not beautiful anymore. So it is fitting to use the changed name. But be sure that the old beauty with its name will remain in many people.

good one. seeing the present situation of Bangalore, it should aptly renamed to some pre-historic name.
A rose by any other name would smell as good- to quote Shakespeare. Bangalore by any other name would smell as bad!. What's the big deal changing the name when it still smells like fart!! Is the govt listening?
