Well, now we know that the mail problem affecting Bangalore was not the bad roads or poor infrastructure. Bless the politicians for finding the root cause that we unfortunate mortals are suffering from!
i agrees it's karnataka govt.'s decision to change the name of bangalore, but that name doesnt sounds gud as that of mumbai and kolkata, even though they change the name, bangalore will remain in every minds....
I am not against changing names. But spending millions and huge amount of time on changing names, when 20%+ people in the country are below poverty line is waste of money and resources. And this is applicable for Bangalore(Bangalooru), Bombay(Mumbai), Calcutta(Kolkata) etc.

Then please pay u r taxes properly and leave the rest to the government to take care of the rest.
Or i give u another option, u can as well donate 85% of u r income to the people below poverty in this country...
Why dont u start with the street or localoty u live in?
This is awfull man, we are in the age of IT revolution , growing as major Global Soft Power , wt exactly we want to show that In India regionalism is more Power Ful than The Nationality of the Country . We Change Bombay .. Calcutta .. Now Banglore ... WT Next New Delhi to Change to Indraprastha.. is this in any way realate us more closer to our state or Nation ... For cases like this there should be National Concecsus ... We need to Change Our Attitude ...
From Cricket to City Name's......all favoured by Reginalism...
The name change is not restricted to Bangalore. The state government has decided to change the names of other cities such as Mysore, Mangalore, Belgaum, Hubli, Hospet,Gulbarga into Mysooru, Mangalooru, Balagavi, Hubballi, Hosapete, Kalburgi respectively. Bangalores name change is one of them. So why are the screams being pointed only towards Bangalore?
Name change is OK, but what about other problems faced by the city. After changing the name, problems will not be over. Govt should work on upgrading the city Infrastructure. Which is the first and foremost. Rest all are just gimmicks........
I think let it into a referendum among the people of Banglore. They will decide what will be the name of their city.I am a Malayali I'm not interested in this issue,I have one more reason too I have agreed to the authorities while they change the name of my home town as Thiruvananthapuram from Trivandrum. So,outsiders please don't interfere the personal issues of 'Bangaloorians'.
what is in a name ? Will it Really Benefit the people of Bangalore or India for that matter. Will it Cost the Tax paying Citizen ? - If so, it is very Wrong on the part of the Govt. Bangalore was more trendy - going with the present. Bengalooru is very outdated it sounds like some village. Progress made by Bangalore will be slowed down by bengalooru. We thought Tughlaq had passed away long time back, But we have Tughlaq's followers in Abundance. (What if they cant shift Capital they can change a City name) - Stiil all the renamed Cities are well Known with their previous names. Enough is Enough - People have lot of good things to do arent they ? I know of one guy who's name was Malik (meaning Owner) through out his life he worked as a house servant. Did his name made any difference ?
Bangalore or Bangalooru? let it be any one no matters. People say that if u stand at TIMES SQUARE u see people from all around the Golbe. like wise if u want to see India there is only one destination that is BANGALORE.
