Bengaluru is fine
by pradeep on Nov 01, 2006 06:43 PM  Permalink

If the names of the other cities in India can be accepted by the world, why not for Bengaluru?
It gives a local flavour to the city.

Leaders should rename themselves
by Karl on Nov 01, 2006 06:30 PM  Permalink

The leaders who were responsible for this change should rename themselves first:

Dharam Singh should be Dharma Singu as per the Kannada flavor

H K Patil should be H K Patilu

What a pity !! A high tech city being ruled by a bunch of morons

Bangalore or Bangalooru?
by Nirmal on Nov 01, 2006 06:24 PM  Permalink

Before this re-naming spree, there is only one question to be asked. Would this renaming take bangalore or other proposed places to their age-old glory, which history speaks of? Would it make the average bangolarian proud of being bangalooruin?

In other words, would this renaming save even 5 minutes in travelling time for an average bangalorian to his workplace? If not, its better to use the heavy amount of money to be spend on renaming & other related activities in building/maintaining roads, so that infrastructure develops, and bangalore crosses even the earlier glory of yesteryears.

Bengalooru
by sangappa on Nov 01, 2006 05:58 PM  Permalink

Thanks of million....n,

I am hearty supporting to Govt of Kannada best steps to upgrading or rebuilding of Karnataka.
People should stop arguing on the issues like development of regional languages, country language and etc. Why we are paying tax to Govt? If thay belongs to same language speaker they will not argu on this.
If we make little changes now than it will take long time to effect on other part of
Regional developing.

Another Political Gimmick
by Veeren on Nov 01, 2006 05:53 PM  Permalink

Just by converting the name, these jokers will neither be able to score a point with the corporate sector and industry nor (more importantly)ADD ANY VALUE to the rich kannada culture. Simply because they DO NOT GIVE A DAMN....Total waste of time and energy which can be devoted to development...
