Its the hightime for Kannadigas to be vocal about their existance in Karnataka. It doesn't matter for the nonkannadigas living in Karnataka whether It is Bangalore or Bangaluru as long as they are earning and leading a comfortable life here.So whether they like it or not its will be Bangaluru.
Since we have seen earlier so many cities are renamed, so why not bangalooru???? and its just slight change and will be a step to maintain our culture...yeah there are many outsiders in bangalooru..but every where when outsider comes he should adopt to local instead of going against local feelings...then only every country / place will develope.
who cares if its bagalore or bangalooru. the city has become horrible with its ancient civic structure. Its a difficult place to live. i think it will be better if the politicians do something positive rather than changing its name otherwise the IT dream will come to a nought. Moreover I think the number of southies in the city is minuscle compared to people who have come from the rest of India. So they are not very excited with a name change.
normally , Names of any place cannot be called differently in english and Kannada . But Kannadigas are different in this matter also ! atlast Government realised this and changed the name of BANGALORE .ofcourse this would have been done long back .
Most of the names of the city or railway stations in India, named by British Rulers prior to independence depending on the geographical nature and easy to pronounce. For example Bombay has renamed it as MUMBAI by Shiva Sena's recommendation. But even today MUMBAI is called as Bombay all over the world. It is ideal to retain the name as BANGALORE because it is easy to pronounce international level. All politicians must be SCREENED by the public before electing the right candidate.
