Yeah..the school is great. Somehow, none of us realized that whilst studying but we feel a great sense of pride about the school much later, now. I guess its the brand more than anything.
From the days of Ram kalia (former principal) DAV has always been renowned in the teaching and a result oriented curriculum and that has obviously helped in overall growth and achievement of the students. As an alumnus living in Newyork I am of the opinion that the competition between students drives even mediocre students to increase their efforts and do really well.
Id like to make it clear that though DAV boasts of itself as being the top school of India,it takes only the best students through an entrance test. Whats the use of taking only good students.I challenge them to take average students and make them intelligent.Their entrance tests are a flawed one as they give extra 5% marks to their own students and do prejudice. So think before rating this as the best school of India. The principal is lying that he is taking all students on merit as I am one of those few who missed out on the entrance test because they were giving extra 5 % to their own students. This is like a type of reservation. And let me remind the viewers that I am no average student.I got 97 % in Xth board and DAV rejected me in the entrance exam because of the extra 5 %. So think before youlink.
Good to read about the excellent performance of the school... congrats to all... but it is sad that the author does not mention the name of late Shri. Ram Kalia ji, on whose efforts these achievements have been built upon...
