Friends, lets first decide what is the objective of "RESERVATIONS"? I am sure all of us would opine equivocally that "SOCIAL UPLIFTMENT OF THE UNDER-PRIVILEGED" or, does it click anything else in your mind??? How can that differentiate a brahmin from a OBC? I think the brahmins are the biggest begger around because the brahmin becomes a brahmachari by chanting "BHABATI VIKSHYAN DEHI".
Puns apart, India needs to protect its ethnic tribes who are true anthropological specimens & for them we all must work together so that they are genetically improved to face this complex world in a better way for that its essential that they must be given all shorts of free education, health measures & protection for taking up higher studies.
But, that does not mean I support QUOTAs for OBCs. By the way who are the OBCs? Who demarks this domain? Instead of igniting the fire of casteist divide, Govt. should take measures to stop caste based masacres taking place in Bihar or Maoists slaughtering innocent villagers who mostly belong to the STs & SCs. Then the Govt. is sleeping.

no where in the world 50 -70% reservation exist.there is no reservation for jews in germany inspite of hollocaust.no quotas for blacks in usa inspite of historic humiliation at hands of whites....only token voluntary affirmative action..... .so how long can reverse discrimination in form of reservation be justified.can u hang a man because his father has committed murder.
By trying to divide the country on the basis of caste with the sole intention of staying in power congress party has taken a wrong decision. By not withdrawing the decision it is appearing that it is bet upon being foolish. Time will tell whether this is the last time it is in power for a very long time to come...
