I don't understand how our political leaders are so ignorant and why we give so much liberty to our system.
In a country like India, where we are still fighting to inculcate the culture of national interation, southern states like tamil nadu still fighting against the official language issue, making cries for telengana, north east burning,j & k flooding with blood, we find time to decalre such idiotic reseravtions. Beleive me, India,although,we say is growing, we are still a 3rd world country with primitive mental schemas and dogmatic mindsets.
As a nation, we have not really gained much than loose.Let the people decide what and whom they want to take care for them.

if you think that the caste which you say as backward are only meant for cleaning filth, you are mistaken by it.
we live in a world marching towards 22nd century. thoughts like these reflect your rotten mentality only.
reservation has given a weapon of undue advantage. performance should not be compromised. everyoune wants to excel and achieve the heights. let performance be the criteria. you discussed about financial considerations. i am of the view if a candidate can achieve a height, let govt comes forward to aid him/her in studies so that finance should not crush talent.
anyway, govt has introduced some measures in the form of educational loans. more can be worked over better options.
why reservation?
hope you will look with a broader perspective without dividing students in fields like cast or creed.

den why u don't tell dem to make institutions like IITs just for OBCs if you felt that OBCs have been troubled for ages in the past...OBCs have been troubled by theirshelves not by any other people upper or lower...what OBCs politians(now abt 300 MPs in parliament) are doing for their community apart from making money for theirshelves...Our rail minister has got all his kids highly qualified but not his state when he was in power...
look, this is not an issue in right direction...what we need to make sure that the fruits of development go through all sections of societies not just few... and reservation is not the final solution...we need to provide right infrastructure(which is again hindered by OBCs politians) to give everyone equal right for education, knowledge and development from start...we should provide funds to underprevillaged masses having desire to succeed in life based on their skills not as they are OBCs or whatever...
well, too much to say...but basic thing is - we live in a society where everyone is equal based on their merit not on their class...Jai Hind
Under the present circumstances, Intellectuals shd unite to save the Nation from the clutches of the Power & Vote Hungry Govt.
This Govt has No sense of logic and reason Nor it is sensitive to the feelings of hundreds of thousands of Students all over the Country protesting against the Reservation, a product of 19th Century Mindset, which is dividing the Society on caste lines, affecting the Unity, Stability and the Development of the modern Secular Nation.

Sonia ji is not indian govt and upper class Hindus are not the only people who lives in India. In fact Congress leader have now understood that reservation is necessary to bring development to everybody in India. Otherwise the lower class will only keep cleaning the filt of the upper caste for thousands of years in future. Someone bold must have to stop it and the current govt is doing it.
In fact every part who wants to make India proud should support these. That's why all political parties are supporting this reservation because they all agree, to take India forward, to bring development to grassroots, RESERVATION is the only weapon to protect lower caste from pre-historic social laws.

Secular's Observation is correct!
In this 21st Century and in a Secular Democratic Society, you cannot sell the age old slogan( designed by the Missionaries to divide the society and to convert the Dalits to Christianity) that the great Grand Father of the SC student was ill treated by the Great Grand father of the UC student and Hence the UC student must be penalised and shd be denied admission even after scoring 85% marks while the Sc student with 45% marks shd be welcome to the same Institution.
This Jungle Law and must be thrown out Lock, Stock and barrel.
The Congress and the Communists are all out to fracture the Society further, so that the Nation is destabilised and China/Pakistan can easily take over the Country!
Youth of the Nation shd unite and foil the nefarious design of the Vote Hungry and Power Hungry Congress and Communists.
The urgent need of the Hour is to provide Quality School Education in the backward and Tribal Districts of the Country, where the Primary school is operating under the Tree with one Teacher teaching 5/6 classes.
Thus the Govt failed in its Duty and now trying to set out Caste War in the Society, to cover up failure!
The Congress government which had opposed the Mandal Commission is favouring the reservation quota, what a political mindset. There should be merit, and merit alone decides the future of the nation and you and your party is taking India backwards by bringing in reservation. even decades have passed still reservation process is going on. There should be no reservation or one fine day the people will awaken and throw out all the politicians. Beware and advise your politicians not to play politics, otherwise Congress will never be voted to power again.

I totally agree with Mr. Rao. Congress Govt should apply brain and logic and solve this problem. Dr. Manmohan Singh should not go by politics, he is a great Economist. He should use his brains and bring an reform. Enough of these Reservations. Tell me how many OBC/SC/ST have benefited fm the reservations. and for how long does the Govt plans to implement Reservations.Even Dr.Ambedkar has said that after 10yrs Reservations should be stopped. Are the current Govt going by the Constitution?
Dr.Singh, pls stop playing politics with Educational institutions. If Congress still goes its way and implement Reservations/Quotas in premier Institutions then fm that day onwards it's heading towards its doom. Congress Govt's doom means BJP's gain. Then RSS and Hinduism will be prominent.
Dr.Singh and President pls try to understand the needs of Forward Caste,Brahmins and Middle Class. they are also a part of Vote Bank.If you ignore these people, then another partition of India is surely bound to happen.

Congress is always a party of traitors. It was a British who made congress to protect the interest of British. Now again a foreigner is it's president.
Cogress became nationalist party for a short duration when Tilak was alive. After his death it forget that " Swarajya" was it's main motive. After the execution of Bhagat Singh there was great unrest in Indian youth. So conress adopted resolution for " Freedom". They forced a true nationalist like Shubash Bose to leave country. Nehru made Partion of India permanent. He never tried to undo it. He promoted Indira and encouraged dynasty rule. Conress imposed emergency and jailed lakhs of innocent citizen. Congress has history of treating opposition as enemy.

I do not understand onet thing about reservation , I never saw great protests made by so called upper caste (Merit people in history) when there was reservation favoring them (I am not talking about post indepedance period). Any one can tell now that merit is important , then why india was not developed or did not invent anything during period when no person from sudra community given a chance. The history proves that social equality is more imporant than giving way to Meritorious people. if some one doe not like what is happening now can leave the country.
