Reservations
by gokhale on May 24, 2006 06:13 PM  Permalink

This is not going to end here. After few years again politicians with desire to uplift these communitites will come up with such ideas.

Unfortunately, these communities also dont understand gimmicks played by politicians.

Education free to all for these communities is necessary instead of reservations.

Stop the fuss
by Vj on May 24, 2006 06:12 PM  Permalink

We have had enough. Please don't write when you are not in the best of your elements. And, for God's sake, don't use phrases to romanticise the issue. Besides making for sick reading, it gives unnecessary ideas to the impatient people who are given to protests at the drop of a hat. 'Partition' is an unforgettably tragic event in history. Don't use it just to hype your story. That word is associated with too much gravity for you to use it for special effects for your story.

Congress a traitor party
by Indrajeet Bhattacharya on May 24, 2006 06:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Congress is responsible for partition of 1947 and now again the same thing is being repeated which will result in civil war. Peoples of India should now take initiative to uproot this party forever either thru ballet or thru bullet ...

RE:Communists are the Friends of Traitors.
by Patriot on May 28, 2006 03:32 PM  Permalink

Indian Communists are also the Traitors, misleading the mass thru the Weapon of Resrvation, to perpetuate injustice to Youth.

How can one justify to punish a Youth, with the so called allegation that his great grand father had ill treated the great grand father of a SC youth. Hence the UC youth with 85% marks shall sit out and the SC guy with 45% marks shd be admitted into the Higher education.

Both the Congress and Communists hv miserably failed in providing Quality School Education in the Rural, backward and Tribal areas, to students of weaker sections, free of charge, to enable them to come up and join Main Stream with Pride.

To cover up their failures, Cong and Commu are taking shelter under the Divisive Vote Bank Weapon of Reservation to cling to Power by cheating the gullibles.

Such policies are detrimental to the Unity, integrity and stability of the Country. India's arch Enemies are celebrating over such Divisive Weapon being used by Cong and Commu.

Hence not only Ban Reservation, but also ban their present foster fathers, the Congress and Communists, lock stock and barrel.

It is the duty of every patriotic Indian to support the Movement, till the end.

New partition
by Sunil on May 24, 2006 05:58 PM  Permalink

It's said " There is nothing more unequal than equalling unequals "

The process of reserving the quota at higher level stream of opportunity is erronious correction for the underpreviledged. The quota's are required at input ...why food , water, land , homes, clothes is not reserved or not distributed free for underpreviledged ?? because it needs management and work. The real work is in distribution of resources

Our politicians are more comfortable with single line decisions to get more votes

after basic needs and right to live are reserved the opportunities to earn should go to deserved ones ..

The country will be divided infinitely. The people who believe in divide and rule will keep ruling smaller and smaller country !!!!

I hope it does not start another Brain Drain Wave!!!

God save the nation

Reservations
by Shridhar Iyer on May 24, 2006 05:55 PM  Permalink

Well said Mr Kak. Wonder if the government plans to do something like providing free education (right from primary school) to the truly underpriviledged rather than dividing the nation on basis of caste.

`Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.` Chinese proverb
Wonder how long the government is going to `feed` the so called lower castes and crippling them further and at the same time comprmising on merit?

Partition of India
by Cliff on May 24, 2006 05:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If this reservation issue continues, no one can stop the partition of India. I am expecting this to happen between 2020 and 2050. Hope I dont live to see this day.

I agree with your view.. If these politicians go with these kind of attitude we will end up in no mans land. Reservations should not be based on the caste and religion , it should be based on the economical status and financial background. These politicians are not thinking beyond next elections
