If the Guvmint thinks that the "socially backward" people can be uplifted only through reservations, then it must be correct, coz isnt it their job to come up with the best solution to the worst problem? Iam not agaisnt reserv ation... but why not have a lower limit.... say that if 100% is a "normal" Indian Citizen who CAN take care of himself, then only those who fall in between the 75 and above range can be compared to the 100% Normal Indian, and it should be these that the reservation should target... so for a course in a college of hundred seats, for a given entrance test, only those "privileged" who achieve >75% must be allowed in to utilize the reserved seats. the rest of the empty seats shouls be given back to the general category. This is much better. Then there should be a law that will outlaw this reservation, atleast by 2100(year that is). Otherwise, the poor will remain poor... and the rich wont give a damn...
as although i know i would sound sick with this proposal,but assuming our political leaders are wise and thinks of nation as a whole first,i suggest,how about giving up top posts of party presidents,tressurers,chairpersons of political fronts ets's post to obc/and miniorities? and then we can also go for reservation of the post of finance minister/defence/law etc to obc. and above all, i suggest,doctors passed through quota should be eligibale for attanding and operating if necessary to our political leadership. no going out of country for any type of treatment.AS WE NEED TO GIVE EQUAL OPPERTUNITY TO our bacward cast brothern/miniorities. LONG LIVE RESERVATION!
Dr.Ambedkar initially wanted reservation to stay only till 1960.But congress has not done any thing for lower cast in last more than 50 years of their rule. their present plan is proof of that.
