Remove Arjun Singh
by Mayur on May 21, 2006 01:10 AM  Permalink

Arjun Singh seems to be a really un-foresighted person , he does not seem to be eyeing or may be trying to be ignorant to the future of the educational system.Reservations of 49.5% in the premiere institute is just a election and vote pulling stunt. Its better t remove him from the ministerial port folio.

Opposed to overall Reservations
by Narayanan on May 19, 2006 02:44 PM  Permalink

The overall reservations are bogus. The reservation system opened for big heads for two causes. Benefit for their next generation and election Votes. This system should be changed. We have excellent technical, medical, scientific, and many more areas recognized in globally. These are not all backward people. Those are experts in their field. The Political leaders should have the minimum knowledge on IITs, IIMs and Medical institutions before talking. Sitting in secured places and thinking about non-sense bills for pass, is useless for both the politicians and the bad effected students / professionals. Those politicians are unfit for the seats. The reservation system may exist up to a certain education level only. The backward people pushed and pulled by them only. Useless people sitting idle they cant able to think about the future and our country. For a developing country reservations never required.

WHIMSICAL DEFENSIVE POLITICS
by Nawal Shekhawat on May 19, 2006 02:25 AM  Permalink

The current government should consider removing Arjun Singh from the post of HRD minister in case it wants to save some face. I am sure this HRD minister has seen enough glorious days, seldom is God so generous to leaders in a democracy, he\'s been Chief Minster of the once largest state in India, HRD minister at lleast 2 times, I guess it is time to step down with the elegance and grace of a gentleman rather than fight doogedly like a whimiscal politician. I wish God also gave some people a sense of guilt and willingness to cast away false egos. Unfortunately greed for power make people do things that make them sacrifice the hapiness and rights of thousands of other worthwhile people just for their one own position. Stubborness is good in some places, however it is not above national interests.

We need some Inspirational Leaders
by Bhargav on May 18, 2006 10:45 PM  Permalink

Hey people, from the movie RDB, I think its far inspirational for all the Indians. Out Ministers haven't ruled out anything about the Country's progress so far? What progress will the country make if the OBCs are giving 50% seats. I don't doubt that even OBCs have good and brilliant students and no doubt they will be quality engineers and doctors. Then why are the other quality engineers and students held back? Don't you think they all deserve equal opportunities. Education is equal for everyone and no one should be denied just because he is not an OBC. government is making no sense in what it is talking and its just creating discontent amongst the people by throwing foolish suggestions. The main problem is that INDIA's GOVERNMENT DOES NOT THINK. ONLY IT THINK IS OF MONEY AND CHAIR. I have no idea, guys, we are living in the 21st century and India I believe in still living in the 18th century when America got Independence. It will be another 300 years for India to be like America. I highly doubt that social development is not going to be in India for the next 100 years. Accept it or leave it. Jo hota hai use hone do varna jimmedari uthav use badalne ki. JAI HIND

Reservation
by Nester on May 17, 2006 07:49 PM  Permalink

Dear all readers,

My question here is not the question of reservation. I am more confused is why is there no unity among all the students in various fields and only Medicals. Guys Call on support from all sides of the institution and the whole country. Than look at Arjun Singh, He wont have a choice.

Guys bring the Institutions to a stand still. Make a nation wide strike. Bring all to halt. What Arjun Singh thinks of him self. All this was started by Former PM V.P Sigh. these guys are all set to devide our country on this issue like the Robbers British did.

Stand Unitidly.

Let Arjun Singh Face the Directly
by Arvind Mittal on May 17, 2006 06:59 PM  Permalink

As expected most of the posts agree with him...
here is someone who put his pt in a v diff way.. :))

I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely
support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let's start
the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent
reservation for muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that. Cricket
rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be
reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be
considered as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8
runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century.
We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like
Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player. Bowlers
should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player. Any
delivery above this speed should be made illegal.
Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an
OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters.
There can be reservation in Government jobs a

Yours Truely

Kaviaru

Unintelligent Reservation
by Rabi Kanungo on May 17, 2006 06:20 PM  Permalink

Indian Democracy has been experimenting methods of division, more than what what English was doing. How decoratively placed it may be, hue of political vote seeking is nakedly seen in every aspects of quota arrangement. Indian politicians are so poor in intellect that they can not opt for anything new in idea which can unite people and chose the best among them as leaders. Ok, if the Constitution per se provided for the same, who else has to change it? Has not the Constitution been changed? Let me offer a solution. An individual getting quota facility for him and his/her offsprings. If practiced since 1950, the arithimetic calculation might prove that the total population of SC, SC and OBC must have been covered.
