Student leaders take Protests closer to Masses : Instead of the anti reservation students protesting in azad maidan in mumbai , The students should organize groups of 20 to 50 to hold protest rallies on sundays in suburbs like bandra andheri santa cruz vile parle one day , dadar etc on other , borivali etc in grounds in each station .
This way elders, parents ,students all will be able to join the stir in grounds closer to there home Let the Media cover them and the politicians will start seein the major response from the middle class with the students which will cost them votes in coming BMC elections and assembly elections .
Same model can me enacted by student leaders in all cities .
· Quota to be fixed to 29% only after identification of creamy layer. · There should be no further increase in reservation quota. · These 29% should not belong to creamy layer. · Creamy layer to be identified only according to income tax returns only. (This will make filling of IT returns MUST to every citizen). Till the identification of creamy layer quota should remain as it is at present. · Copy of IT returns must with the application form of the candidate. · Qualifying standard for reserved category should be 5% less of the cut off limit for the general category. · Students of general category should fill vacant seats of reserved category. · These criteria to be implemented by 2031. · Cast and religion based reservation should be abolished by 2031. · One can avail benefit of quota only once in his lifetime.
The allmighty intent of reservations-very wrong in the first place-was to give the not-so-affording(but perhaps brilliant) ones an opportunity to study and develop themselves into awesome persons,in the finest institutions of India. However wrong, it was to be only for a limited period of about 40 to 50 years! What is it that Arjun Singh and the Congress party has found lacking in OBC's that can be rectified with this reservation? How will it be if 50% seats in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies were reserved and elections were held for only the balance 50%? Should there not be something called competition?
If one desires to help the weaker sections provide them the best possible (free) primary & high school education opportunities and after thus bring them 'on par' let EVERYONE COMPETE for the best Colleges-without reservation! If a weaker section student scores terrific marks(shows his brilliance) encourage him with a hansome scholarship - to help him through College! I Guess with the top positions in the Congress Party being reserved for Sonia Gandhi's children the Arjun's bring in reservations to help "their lot".
we general candidates study day and night, drop two-three years at least to get thru such entrances and the sc/st acndidate without even a year dropping,,,rather just minor studies gets through the pg and gets the best college/.....??????? whereis the criteria gone for merit... why not produce a certain cut off(of marks scored inthe entrance) for the sc/st candidate to get thru the entrance and keep it to least75% of the marks scored by the last rank holder in general category or somethin like that....
think logically.. steps cant be taken in a single day by just pAssin a bill by the m.p's who have no idea of the stiff competition in the field....needs to be worked out by eminent educationists and doctors not the political party leaders PLEASE.......
wooing the public by such measures by the m.p's might provebeneficial for them for two three years..vat after that..would you again increase the quota...????how far isthis hikegood..
the topic needs to be analysed not only by the m.p's ...needs to be talked with the senior doctors who have gon through the proceduresand who have experienced that who deserves the place..
there is a hugeincreasein the no of aspirantsfor the pg seats among the general candidates already and now you arplannin to even decrease teh seats when you should ahve increased them rather...is it not gonna increase the braindrain and tension among thestudents..
morover..the sc/st candidates who are finishin off their studies by such quotas and such huge govt funding..ask how many of them serve the country..half of them fly off the very next day abroad..then whats the us..its a sheer waste of govtfunds..
the only outcome of increasin the quota would be a an increase in production of fake certificates..nothin else..who ll check that..
if you are so despearte to increse the seats for sc/st candidates cosof their increasing now...why not showsuch desperation for increase of seats for the general candidates also...why not taking any step over it for s many years..competition has increased morethan100% and increase in seats is not even0%..rather its now gonna be in negative...how depressing it sounds to you??
my view regarding reservations in centrallyfunded institues:::
agreed that backward societies need certain amount of reservations but the question is when you have received the same professional degree from the same reputed institue and more importantly the same education under the same college,,teachers..then why do you need such a big quota for gettin thru p g...
mbbs is a certain degree that enables and allows you to start workin a s a practitioner and sc and general candidate are given equal qualifications... then why such a big quota..
instead of giving them such a big quota..why not preferably fund their education..what is the basis ofallowin sc st such a big quota..this only that they dont have enough resources and money to study..what if the sc st candidate is rich then whats the difference between him and general candidate..??????why not have reservations for economically weaker sections rather than for backward people..??why not provide them all resources in their study in mbbs and provide them good fund for their further prepartion for pgs rather than givin them more quota..??
I don't understand why these doctors & IITians should be protesting against reservation? They have got seats and well on their way to become doctors and Engineers -- why sould they jeopardise their career, their lives and lives of current patients? Let those students who are likely to be affected and the future patients (!?) who will have to get the treatment from 'reservation' doctors protest if they feel threatened.
My advice is -- don't waste your career for some one else's. In fact future reservation is good for the current students and doctors -- think about it with a cool (& Selfish) mind. This is a selfish world -- SO take care of yourself just like those poor politicians are doing. If you just want to strike for the fun of it, Go for a token strike supporting reservation -- reservation is really good for you.
