put to vote
by venkatramana on May 11, 2006 02:10 PM  Permalink

This is the pulse of the whole nation in general but who is listening. Can the governmen put to vote the and take a referandum on is policies in J & K? It will definitly lose its stand. We should be courage enough to settle the issue even if it hurts, to be very clear on our policies and put our right foot forward. We do not need others advice nor help in dealing with this kind of terrorism as we have a vast experience in dealing with it and WE CAN DO IT NOW.

Nice Article
by Sonali Singh on May 11, 2006 02:01 PM  Permalink

Hi! Lalit

Its a very thought provoking article. Nice and pragmatic suggestions mentioned.

I don't know how much more killing J&K and Hindus had to see before the government actually wakes up and take some strong decisions..

Well said
by Mary on May 11, 2006 05:50 AM  Permalink

bravo. Well said Lalit. Great thoughts that reflect the perspective of every Indian regardless of religion. I am a catholic. But my blood boils when I see young innocents shedding blood due to the evil called pakistani supported terrorism. It is high time India puts an end to all these things. I too feel that this letter shud be copied to the prime minister. I know it is easy to write a column but difficulty arises when it comes to implementation. But so does every idea. So if a fraction of what is said in this column is done, there will be a great improvement.
Jesus bless India.

re: what it will take Mr PM
by Saravanan S on May 11, 2006 04:15 AM  Permalink

This is not the feeling of Koul. It is the inner voice of millions of Indians irrespective of their caste or religion.Any body who has taken birth in this soil would have his blood boil by seeing these numbers. Though I dont say that implementing this 13 point system is a one day job, but atleast if we could start with the first three points the enemies will wake up and our citizens will also get some confidence. one thing is very clear, in this world too much of mercy or too much of patience is not an achievement but foolishness. Our PM need not wait for any body's approval for this. He has the right and responsiblity of safe guarding our citizens. If we are not able to protect our own people and give the people a safety life how r we going to do it in other countries like Afganisthan.

I agree
by shintu on May 10, 2006 10:19 PM  Permalink

Dear Lalit,

I agree with your clear, to the point message.
I feel deeply ashamed at our callousness approach to this crisis. People keep getting killed and our government keep talking on peace process.

I feel utter despair and ashamed as to I don't do anything to help this.
May some one wakes up the indian government to do some real work to stop this messacre.

regards

Most sensible artilce
by Chaitanya on May 10, 2006 07:38 PM  Permalink

This is probably the most sensible article on this issue in recent years. I think our Prime Minister, who is undoubtedly a dummy, should get a copy of the article and the user comments. He may wish to forward a copy to his bosses(The G family). Its time we see some action and probably stop sending troops to peacekeeping missions in other countries. There are many countries which can and should fill that role because of lack of problems on their home turf.
