The untimely demise of Pramod Mahajan has cast a pall of gloom and sorrow over the entire nation. The bleeding of the vital organs of Mahajan has permanently stopped, but the nation, his political party and the hearts of his family members and innumerable friends will permanently bleed. His unfortunate death at the hands of his brother is a grim reminder of the dark pages in Indian history: king Jaichandra Rathor getting cousin king Prithviraj slain and Prince Aurangzeb brutally eliminating his three brothers. While members of various political parties engaged in their poll campaigns in different parts of the country are marching with their flags and festoons, with their dreams and hopes and with their well prepared speeches and promises, the dreamless body of once promising and firebrand Mahajan has silently taken its final journey to be consumed by fire with the 'Last Post' playing at Shivaji Park. What a pity ! What a loss ! What an irony ! Where did they go wrong while saying that blood is thicker than water ? We fold our hands in all solemnity and pray for his great soul to rest in peace. K. Being a BJP loyalist I did not like the way he stalled Uma Bharti's regaining the post of CM of Madhay Pradesh I did not like the way he once favoured MTNL against private telecom operater YET tears welled up in my eyes when I saw his funeral on TV he was a charismatic leader with sharp mind.It will be hard to forget him
In Pramod mahajan's death, the country lost a man who had the potential to lead this country taking everyone along on the path of progress and development. He was a man whom the country was looking to lead the society otherwise fragmented and divided along the caste and political idelogical lines. It was great misfortune for the BJP in particular and the country in general to have lost such a dynamic and a young politician who had the immense potential to provide the leadership that this country is in dire need of.
