My sympathies to the families
by Miky on Mar 22, 2006 02:51 PM  Permalink

when the govt. can spend 88,000crores on a defence budget. can't it spend 20,000 or 30,000 crores out right to buy new planes at oe go rather than the phasing out plan. As each year the aircraft would be much older and more prone to crashes

How can young men join air force if there are incidences like these on regular basis!!!!!

About the MIG plane crash Yesterday
by Amarnath on Mar 22, 2006 10:45 AM  Permalink

Thousands of films like "Rang De Basanti" is not enough for making Government think about this issue.

For the Govt., it is a mere loss of one MIG plane. But for the People of India, we have lost our two valuable soldiers.

Unless it is taken care by the PEOPLE who makes the GOVERNMENT, this may be continuing.

May GOD bless the died soldiers family and their soul.

MIG 21
by Gaurav on Mar 22, 2006 09:08 AM  Permalink

This is nothing but absolute carelessness on the part of the government and the Air force authorities. When everybody knows that these MIG 21 planes are nothing but flying coffins, why are they being still used???
These are not accidents... but MURDERS.

MIG crash
by Raj on Mar 22, 2006 08:26 AM  Permalink

Rang De Basanti, thats the super duper hit movie of 2006.
after watching movie, many of us come to know about the freedom fighters, but does that movie show real Indians ?does that really show you that we as indian capable of doing something that serious ? in the movie they show that they killed defence minister, and later take over the AIR and let everyone know that they killed him.
after few months of this movie release in real MIG-21 crashed and 2 pilots dead, and surprising fact about the media is they even didn't have time and effort to mention the names of the pilots (leading newspapers, websites), and we all people of india doesn't care about that news.
Is this means that we are more interested in movie, because it has famous actors and nice songs in it? and after watching movie we discuss about the MIG crashes, but it happens in real, we don't care about them at all. i'am sure people are still watching the movies 2 times 4 times, but do we really thought/ thinking about the actual problem shown in the movie ? Is media doing there job as they shown in movie ? do people (students) really react and do something, when they face this situation in real.

MIG
by Balamurali.Srinivasan on Mar 22, 2006 03:48 AM  Permalink

All bureaocrats and senior defence officers sitting happily while young officers loosing their precious lives because of this lousy MIG's..Big time, corruption..only if this crashes, govt will buy new one..then you can get some money there?how many years govt was sitting on a AJT trainer?

george fernandez(when he was defence minister) posted some IAS officers who were sitting on a purchase-order for snow mobiles for jawans at kashmir in the same high altitude as jawans serving to see for themselves..I think like this, we have to put this politicians/IAS officers/and senior defence officers in to the same lousy plane which they ordered and fly it.

Another MIG crash
by R Bhandary on Mar 22, 2006 01:45 AM  Permalink

Two MIG crashes this month and four pilots killed. Strange, a bus which plys on ground cannot be used in Delhi if it's more than eight years old in the name of 'safety', while 30 year old planes (which are older than the young pilots) can fly in air!

Matter of concern
by Vineet on Mar 21, 2006 10:59 PM  Permalink

Its high time that IAF and Indian Government take some strict action on such crashes. Every year many pilots who are the cream of our country are dying in such fatal accidents and we as Citizens of this Country have the right to know the detailed reasons of such crashes. Immediate actiosn shpuld be taken to stop such fatal incidents and teh details of it be made available to the people.
