by NITIN on Mar 17, 2006 11:42 PM  Permalink

I strongly beleive that the cricketeers can be a great ideal prooving the importance of a hardwork and dedications. Mr. Rajnath can you please tell what qualities one can idealised from majority of the politicians of any party. sorry but I cant agree with you on this matter. Nitin.

Just Crazy
by Anurag Mishra on Mar 17, 2006 11:33 PM  Permalink

I guess some leaders speak because they want to, without thinking about ramifications. Saurav Gangulay and Rahul Dravid are two great cricketers, who made country proud, and doing so. People should do anything or everything to make country proud by sports, art, academics or whatever. Classifying sportsmen as not to be ideal for young generation is "JUST PLAIN STUPID".

Its true that Chandrashekar Azaad, Bhagat Singh, Khudiraam Bose, Mahatma Ghandi, Sardaar all were great men, but everybody can't be like them. Great players, great politicians are entirely different and people should make whoever they think of as their ideal. I can bet on one thing; nobody would like to make Rajnath Singh as ideal.

Reading this news item has left me embarrassed and disgusted. I think Rediff shouldn't have even bothered to publish it at first place.

Anurag

Good words from wrong place
by ashok on Mar 17, 2006 11:18 PM  Permalink

Well that's right. But its sounds crazy to hear it from a politician. Almost all major political parties give post to actress/actors. But they say that the youths are interested in Flimstars and Cricketers. Politicians have no rights to talk about self-respect and nationalism. Please someone tell these poor people that nationalism and the communalism are not one and the same.

Baba Jatin?
by Tushar on Mar 17, 2006 11:03 PM  Permalink

Who does Rajnath Singh refer to when he says "baba jatin"? Either the BJP supremo or the guy making this article doesn't know his history well.

by S. Rizwan on Mar 17, 2006 10:52 PM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

Mr. Raj Nath Singh just short of saying political
leaders (say corrupt) should be ideals, his next
step should be to say that shortly.

i agree but....
by akula on Mar 17, 2006 10:34 PM  Permalink

I agree with Rajnath Singh. It is true that at this situation students should recall bhagathsingh and other freedom fighters. At the same time it is mondatory to have models/ideals from whome they can learn and focus on concentration, dedication and devotion towards the work assigned. There are few ideals like Sachin Tendulkar in sports and Games division too.

Some might not agree with me but it is my opinion
