I guess you have not been to other countries

I would like to comment on the part where the 'white tourist' pays much more. I remember paying 10 Rs against a 200Rs that a white tourist pays. I also remember paying 12000pounds for my education abroad while the white man pays 5000pounds for his. Please think twice before you make comments or write a column.

10 things I hate about India
by nadia sani on Jun 25, 2006 03:54 AM  Permalink

To those who have lavished praises on Arpi's article,I say "Shame on you!It's people like you who sell India to foreigners. Why don't you all protest against the govt. and demand solar energy. Sun is plentiful in India, we would not have any energy cuts, yet fools we are to succumb to the cuts, black-outs etc;
What I hate is the absolute lack of back bone among the Indians, mug, mug, mug and no application.Yes, Indians are ineffectual in their lives reagrd to civic society. Learn kids, white does not mean right.NOt one person questioned Arpi's living in INdia. Why should he?What does he do? Demand that foreigners are registered and beware, most come to spy and prey off fools who open their treasures to these sly people. They colonised India once, now they want to do it another way, painless for themselves,no responsabilities. The Indians work for them thanks to our slave mentality.True, some questions raised need to be attended to.I bet most of you who agreed with him treat your fellow Indian with scorn and accord no dignity.I bet you have little or no respect for Indians. How many of you are paperpushers? Conscience, integrity will solve most problems, not a foreign PM or white pals.

No body thinks what they did for India
by manish jaiswal on Jun 25, 2006 02:12 AM  Permalink

I agree with few things mentioned in the article but no country is perfect. Settling in abroad is easy rather than staying in country in helping the country to improve. If people can think what they can do something for the country rather than what country has given to them, that day is not far when you will see new India. Its we and only we who make can make the country of our dream.

i feel nobody should disagree with the truth

i read your article carefully i found that you addressed all those areas which forward thinking educated indians fear to address.... becaus they know that its true... but problem lies in the fact that they think, they can do very little about it..while its our duty only to first acknowledge these flaus and then start working to mend them....... we've to understand that development can not be unidimentional... civic sense and honesty are two important dimention in which i feel that india has progressed only little if any

The one thing that doesn\\\\\\\'t grow in India is discipline. By the way, when the ultimate tax on breathing will be introduced?

BHARAT MAATA KI JAI HO...................
by Savvy on Jun 24, 2006 11:13 PM  Permalink

There is a saying, "INDIA IS A RICH COUNTRY WITH POOR PEOPLE". It is very much true. I don't know whom to blame, the Government of India or the Citizens of India for all the problems we are facing in our
day-to-day life.
Problems like :-
Power Cuts (less usage but long bills).
Water Problems.
Traffic jams.
Unemployment.
Unnecessary demands made by a house maid.
Pollution.
Corruption.
No security.
Degradation of the environment.
Sudden hike in the price of commodities.
First preference to SC, ST, OBC in every field whether they deserve it or not. There are no
reservations for Open Caste people.
Maybe i am missing out on many other problems. I as
a citizen of India have always paid tax to the Govt
and have tried to be responsible in every way that i can. It is we who are changing this heaven into hell.
Lets not continue doing that. Everyone should be treated equally with complete respect. My request to the Govt of India & Citizens of India is - Lets look forward to the betterment of our country because we are the one who have to live & take care of our country.
