When you travel to India on business/vacation, youhave to pay different rates in Hotels, Air tickets, Historic sites and entry to Andaman Islands etc..... Hope , this will change. I think in Dr. Monmohon singh's cabinet is considering these issues.

How can any one tell that you are an NRI while traveling in India until you want to boast and show off your superciliousness?
out of the 100 differnt reasons u like india and feel its an incredible country...i find these 10 things u hate ......are directly or indirectly ur responsibilty.... what is ur contribution as an indian towards changing them other than hate them ? what is india...? you and me ony right?
I partially agree with Author, however the Author's concern on special rate collected from foreigner is not justifiable. The ticket price is fixed based the affordability of the person not based on the color of the skin. India being a poor nation and tourisum is one of the important income for Indian government and not afford to loose it. Foreigner with all their magnanimity should pay for the people of India.
We Indians have to atleast aware of civic rights. We should teach our kids how to think for the betterment of society and how to follow traffic rules. We have to come out caste systems and encourage inter-caste marriage. Changes have already started, let us all be a part of it..
Though you confessed that your friend had painted only a rosy picture of India, I'm afraid you have repeated the same mistake. This article looks solely at one side of India, not the progress it has made, or the image makeover, the technological developments or the pride in one's culture coming out via theatre/movies/art/fashion. India needs to be seen in all its totality. Presenting one side of the picture is criminal. It is true that "Half knowledge is dangerous knowledge".
I do agree with some of your frustrations regarding the red tapism and racism. But at the same time, I do believe a conscious effort is being made to fight these, to the extent of getting technology into the govt processes like filing IT returns online.
If I had to rewrite this article, and the one thing that I can not stand about India - It would be the people of India who point fingers but are not ready to take responsibility for the change. Its easy to sit in the sidelines, but its far more difficult trying to bring about a change.
I agree with the author to the maximum. And my apologies to the author for the worst comment some one gave, on the author's blog. I request Indians not to just boast and feel proud about India, but also look at the negetive side of the coin, agree the facts and try to mitigate them.
Accepting the negetive points about self (Oneself/ones nation), boldly is the greatest charecter that we should develop. Then we need not tell that, "India is Great", The world will say, " INDIA IS THE GREATEST"....
No country in the world is perfect. No body in the world is perfect. One has to accept anybody with all limitations / shortcomings. The same is applicable for our country also.
The main caption put on your website "10 things I hate about India" is very disgusting. Please remember, this web site is visible all around the world. As a true lover, we should try to overcome shortcomings. Please withdraw HATE from caption. This is hurting our feelings.
So you accept the sins committed by your Great Great Grand Fathers. Just Imagine the literacy percentage and the standard of India if reservations are not there.
First of all do you know the real reason why reservations are implemented.
All you upper caste people want to dominate others for ever.
Do you that untouchability is still there in many parts of India. What are you going to do about that.
Do you know that it is the lower caste that suffers most.
Just dont turn a blind eye for everything except saying that it affects merit.
Slaves cant be slaves all the time from your grand father days.
Read the article of Claude regarding the ten things he hate about India. Well most of us are aware of these things - atleast half a dozen of them- but we can't help - aadat se majboor. Still you probably missed one point- our eagerness to talk on anything under the sun -whether we know it or not. the presumption that we know everything.
But as Mark tully puts it - there is no full stops in India.
I think the person who is france, totally forget where she is from, simple list out all the negative things( being suppose to be indian); do look at the postive things; ...
