I knew from very first day that she is a liar. I can bet if court had not punished her she would have contested on congress ticket in next election. She did all this only to get some publicity.

Anti Hindu Judiciary
by Tapan Ghosh on Jun 12, 2006 09:10 PM  Permalink

In India, we have an anti Hindu Constitution, an anti Hindu Judiciary, an anti Hindu administration and an anti Hindu State. Therefore punishment for Zaheera and tolerance for Yakoob Qureishi.

Gujrat riots and Zaheera
by Faiyaz ahmad on Jun 12, 2006 03:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Gujrat riots is a black spot in the Indian history. We live in a democratic country but Indian politics are worse than any other part of world.
Everyone knows that Zaheera changed her statement because of the fear of life. Gujrat is still ruled by dectator and communal forces. Every Indian should be ashamed and I am also wondering about the justice system. Culprits are free and victims are punished.

I totally agree with fiyaz ahmad. gujrat is ruled by a dictator. We need to have democracy like Kashmir in Gujrat. And telling lie should be legally permitted for witnesses. Wasting court's time by changing statements is also OK. I also dont understand why govt is not able to take any action for the godhara incident which incited a lot of violence. What steps has been taken by govt to ensure that such train burning incidents will not happen again.

IT IS VERY STRANGE THAT A WITNESS IS GETTING PUNISHMENT? IS IT POLITICS OR EXTRA JUDICIAL ACTIVISM
by rcpillai on Jun 12, 2006 01:49 PM  Permalink

It is strange that Zaheera Shaikh gets punishment for lying on Best Bakery Case. May be this is the first case in Indian Judiciary to give punishment to a witness who are lyingn in court. This case and its history created public outcry and NGO's and so-called secular leaders and parties, western countries who are providing help to these NGO's are eagerly waiting for this verdict. However, it is strange that the perpetrators of the violence are still living in free society and living such pomp and splendour, an illiterate like Zaheera Shaikh gets punishment from the Indian Judiciary whose histroy for giving punishment to the culprits are always not good and their verdicts are always on the basis of present political leanings of the existence establishment. By giving punishment to the illiterate Zaheera Shaikh who are coming under minority community, Judiciary has shut down all types of witnesses who may come for telling the truth of any types of inicidence occures in future. Courts dealing in Gujarat cases are acting as a pre-planned mode and they wanted to punish this Girl since she is illiterate, coming from Minority community and said truth against NGO's who were with her.Shame!
