It's good message for everyone
by Khemraj on Jun 12, 2006 10:01 AM  Permalink

Such a creative and boldness with courageous intelligence in Indian President is very appreciable that gives the message others to do like him. I was very happy to hear this message.
I only know former President of India, late Dr. Rajendra Prasad was a intelligent personel. But he had no such occasions to lead others towards it.
Here Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is the next person who has the cureosity on spirituality and active in Science and technology, when staying even on the great position. It inspires people towards selfless service.
And all will learn to survive for all, not only for self.

Dr. Abdul Kalam, alias Walter Mitty
by Cogito_ergo... on Jun 09, 2006 02:13 PM  Permalink

James Thurber's story "Secret Life of Walter Mitty", begins like this:
"WERE going through!" The Commander's voice was like thin ice breaking. He wore his full-dress uniform, with the heavily braided white cap pulled down rakishly over one cold gray eye. "We cant make it, sir. Its spoiling for a hurricane, if you ask me." "Im not asking you, Lieutenant Berg," said the Commander. "Throw on the power lights! Rev her up to 8500! Were going through!" The pounding of the cylinders increased: ta-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa. The Commander stared at the ice forming on the pilot window. He walked over and twisted a row of complicated dials. "Switch on No. 8 auxiliary!" he shouted. "Switch on No. 8 auxiliary!" repeated Lieutenant Berg. "Full strength in No. 3 turret!" shouted the Commander. "Full strength in No. 3 turret!" The crew, bending to their various tasks in the huge, hurtling eight-engined Navy hydroplane, looked at each other and grinned. "The Old Manll get us through," they said to one another. "The Old Man aint afraid of hell!" . . .
Did President Kalam have a need to act out the Secret Life of Walter Mitty?

Finally, A President is also a Commander In Chief
by AP on Jun 09, 2006 04:24 AM  Permalink

Finally, we have President who also has taken on the role of Commander in Chief. President Kalam realizes that the Armed Forces that have been placed under his command have a role that is a lot more expansive than simply providing him with a Guard of Honour at official ceremonies. And like any good Commander in Chief, he is joining the troops in their daily routine, to see what the live like and the roles they fulfill.

Unfortunately, our country doesn't have a US Like system where the President controls everything.

Mr. President, if only you could take TOTAL EXECUTIVE POWERS!!!

Unfortunately our President is disillusioned
by PPD on Jun 08, 2006 05:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

"After flying this sortie, I know realise that India is in safe hands, our borders are safe. We have such good pilots, and good defence personnel."

Here he is in disillusion
1. India is not in safe hands , its very much in the hands of Selfish, corrupt ,dishonest politicians who work SOLELY for their( & party's) benefit

2. secondly Our borders may be somewhat safe fm. outside but inside itself its facing so much damage by Selfish policies and activities of our Politicians and corrupt ,ineffecient Govt. machinery

Pls Convey this comment of mine to the President if someone of you can pls do that, and also that He shoud restrain himself from commenting such ABSOLUTELY FALSE things...instead he should think of ways in which he can reduce corruption and bad policies of Govt ..
Thanks

RE:Unfortunately our President is disillusioned

You are twice as disillusioned as anybody out there. What has the Prez got to do with politics. The politicians are elected by you folks. So blame yourselves. He was merely commenting about and motivating the air force. Btw if you dont knwo the Prez is not elected by selfish people and thats why we have a good one. Politics is a reflection of society and the people within. Look inwards my friend.
