I take money for party tickets
by r. Sebastian on Jun 05, 2006 11:22 AM  Permalink

It is possible that most of us may not have connection with BSP, but hats off to Mayavati for her candid and honest admission for collecting money from the rich ticket aspirants of her party. For that matter, whatever be the ethical propriety of her action, it is quite logic to find sufficient reason or justification, as generation of her party fund is only from its members/ cadres, which must be construed as, as she rightly put it, fund drive. What about the congress and BJP? They are hands in glove with the richest industrialists in the country and collect clandestinely crores of rupees for their election fund. The money thus collected from the industrialists is paid back with interest thereon to them in kind i.e., by way of manipulating Government policies to benefit the industrialists. This would actually amount to each one of us paying by way of unnatural price increases for each and every utility item besides creating avenues for corruptions at all levels. Mayavatis political philosophy apart, I appreciate her honest and sincere admission of may be perceived guilt.

I think this is good thing she is doing...however she should not only focus SC and ST's and play caste politics but work for all the poorer and needy sections of the society irrespective of the caste and religion.
There are lot many people apart from SC's and ST's who votes her.

It is well known fact that politicions take money for the party tickets from all who have the capacity to pay. It is only an admission of the known fact from Ms Mayawati. I think she is bold enough to admit what is known to every one. The other politicions who do not admit is due to fear of adverse public image.
