Office of profit bill
by Hemant K.S. Rawat on Jun 06, 2006 09:27 AM  Permalink

I think that we should make an effort to downgrade the President and make him the PM for as long as he can carry on. Some of advisors could be people like Dr Verghese Kurien, Gen Manekshaw ( if he is fit enough) and the likes. As for the present batch of Politicians i beleive we could restart using the CELLUAL JAIL. All top 10000 (ten thousand) Politicians should be put there along with their families and the keys thrown in the BAY OF BENGAL.

President is right
by pradip gharpure on Jun 05, 2006 09:39 PM  Permalink

President has done correct thing. He should also exhibit courage to call back governor of Gujrat, for death of indidan constitution under Modi. Modi deserves national condemnation. Gujarat cannot be equated with India, and Modi also doesnit mean real hinduism. Modi's act of movement against Fanna- is anti-national. He is communalist, fascist, hypocrat & third rate politician.
President should proclaim president rule in Gujrat for breaking of constitutional provision - right to voice opinion, right to see movie of choice, right to entertainment and so on.

Right Title, wrong paragraphs
by Ary on Jun 05, 2006 08:48 PM  Permalink

In the entire article, I agree only with the title of it and none in the remaining sections. The article is completely biased and provides only one side of the coin. It superficially goes over horse trading in Bihar, and Jharkhand and gleans over only the mistakes of the governers. Further, it forgets that BJP has passed a similar order to bail out its legislators including Chief minister Arjun Munda in Jharkhand and it is opposing the bill in the center. Don't you see the two faces of it. Be balanced. A wrong is a wrong where ever and whoever does it. So, I agree only with the title and not with the remaining prejudiced story.

Less-educated Indians (especially non-resident Indians) Aditi Phadnis in her column Presidential Battle
by Karan Rajkumar on Jun 05, 2006 06:45 PM  Permalink

I guess this low blow was meant to go unnoticed by the dumb NRI ? I hope Rediff and Aditi Phadnis realize that many NRIs dimwits like me can read the columns. Could be a case of learning disorder in political correctness or maybe Aditi Phadnis is taking a crash course on misplaced rhetoric and or her higher intelligence allowed this contemptuous slip to sneak by. Whatever it maybe, I request Rediff to give her a more conservative platform - spare us the rooftop please. My NRI expression is right on spot - some bloody nerve eh!!

\'Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt Abe Lincoln

We owe our President a lot
by Mahesh Kumar Bonam on Jun 05, 2006 06:33 PM  Permalink

Yes we owe our President a lot. I think we should allow him for an other term in the office. So that he makes this government to work in a faithful & sincere way.

Khudos to our "PRESIDENT"
