I really do not why the media is giving coverage to such as contest in first place and secondly why does the title say "Indians fail to win Spelling Bee". For the kind information to the editor of this atricle, the contestants were not "indians" but were of indian origin and that do not make them indians. Please stop sucking up like this. Also i read so many articles portraying "Bobby Jindal" as an indian though he is not...this makes me wonder if we indians lack self pride??? Come on folks!!

Come on peace india. Its OK to take contributions from NRI indians for the development of the country. Its also OK for political parties to receive contributions from NRIs when it suits you guys. But we should not call them indians why ?
Instead of complaining like the earlier user why dont we have such similar competition in India. Atleast people wont waste time seeing movies and tv serials.

What a lovely idea srinivas. We all are with you on this one .
Well how about sania mirza losing in the first round....I guess thats really important..to be in the national news......Is it necessary that indian kids be featured only if they win the bee.....Well I think they did really well....
And nice article BTW.
Also like to mention that the winner got really easy words....
Sour Grapes

Dear Catch22, The winner really got it all very, very easy ,definitly something fishy !! So its a westernised christian conspiracy for sure !! What do we do now? Report to the Pope or to George Bush about this blatant discrimination? Hey, When are we going to get out of this "sour grapes" attitude Man ? As for me, I'm proud that so many indians are able to make it to the top in this competition.
Why not? It is very significant. Its not an easy game to spell correctly. As many as 10% Indian kids participated in this tough intelligent competitions. Isn't that significant. Participating needs great courage and hard work than winning. We should encourage the kids through such articles.
These children are not indian. Their parents maybe but they are not. They are all american. Stop taking pride in people whose parents are indian and hence they are forced to be of indian origin. These people of indian origin dont help or do anything for india. If you want to report about childrent there are millions of heroic children in India, the true indian children. Please do not refer to american born kids as Indian.

These so called American kids are more indians than the kids born in India. Indians in India are doing everything in their power to ape everything that westerners do. You folks have no sense of originality. At least these American kids try to hang on to the former Indian values. If you stayed in the US, you would know their involements. So be nice and be very proud of these kids.

I guess you want to take credit for only successes and not failures huh? Take a deep breath and relax. I don't believe this article is to put indians down. Indian kids have one the spelling bee's in the past and this time an Indian kid was unsuccessful. That's all it means! Get used to failures too you know or else you will give up on life too soon.
