>>The bill... passed with 359 voting in favor to 68 >>against... >>Reflecting that bias, 219 Republicans voted in favor >>of the bill and just nine against; on the other side >>of the aisle, 58 Democrats voted in favour of the >>bill and a thumping 140 against (an Independent >>Congressman voted in favour). 219+58+1=359? 9+140=68? I'd have let that pass as a typo, but for the "Reflecting that bias", and the "thumping", which was also prominently displayed in the headlines. Is it wishful thinking on the part of Haniffa?
Though the efforts of the US failed to bring the to sign the Non-proliferation treaty , it has succeeded in getting Inida to sign an agreement by which it can have a better and tight control over India in a manner more useful for the US. Now it has beter access to all the intelligence it needs about the activities of india in the nuclear field and can help its bosom friend PAK with any intelligence it needs in this regard , about Inida.
Dems are not against India

i dont agree with a comment that says Dems stand vis-a-vis India. having interacted with both Dems and Reps first hand its my opinion that Dems are more pro-India than Reps. this is just one of those legislations that Dems are trying to defeat, as this is an election year.
