Parliament is run with taxpayers' money.
by chanakya on Jul 25, 2006 07:15 PM  Permalink

Like prodigal sons they cannot just adjourn it within half an hour.

It makes little or no sense.

And we thought we sent sensible people there to represent us !!!

parliament adjournment
by Kitty on Jul 25, 2006 08:36 AM  Permalink

Respected Parliamentarains,
I salute you with respect because thousands of citizens have elected you with great hope that you will respect their aspirations and work to fulfill them. I regret to note your novel anti people behaviour in the parliament. Don't you ralise that you waste CRORS of Rupees of common poor citizens of India by adjourning the parliament and enjoy yourlife at the hard earned maony of the common citizen. Can our country which has 60% and more living below poverty line afford to squander money on your whimsical behaviour? You raise slogans against price rice in the name of the common man but don't you realize by doing so you do more harm than good? Whose money has been used to feed you and look after you at the Capital provideing five star comforts while the common man struggles to have a single meal per day, who sweats out to earn a decent living for survival?
I warn you if you do not behave youself and fulfill your duty responsibly the citizens will begin a Nation wide stir which may turn out to be too fatal !
Therefore behave yourself and fulfill your duty for which you are elected.
Kitty

holidays or condolences?
by srivastava on Jul 24, 2006 01:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why must there be "holidays" in LS & RS for every condolence? Can't there be just a show of respect band farewel to the departed soul and be back to the business of the House? There are many thousand members present and past.

I can't agree with you more. If shouting slogans and adjorning parliament, were solutions to problems ... well then the UP and bihar assemblies would have been the best around. (Who can forget the shameful and hilarious mike throwing and slipper throwing incidence). I guess these people think that its a great acheivement to be to stop the government machinery from functioning. We need to realize we have come a long way from a foreign ruler ruled the country and we had strikes against them.

Parliament Adjourned
by Pritesh on Jul 24, 2006 12:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Politicians don't have any right to waste people's money by getting the parliament adjourned. Less number of working day and less work.

By shouting alone there is no solution to the problems. This is high time for government (including all parliamenters) to brainstorm on national security. They need to find out the ways to fight internal and external terrorism.

They need to be on same footing towards response on terrorist attacks. Every Indian requests for an action from Government of India.

Shouting will not solve the issues. Be on table, raise the voice. If the voice is not heard by government, bring the voice to public and create a public opinion then.

We expect a day of serious work.

RE:Parliament Adjourned
by Mahesh M on Jul 24, 2006 07:58 PM  Permalink
Good Job, Parliament does not do anything anyway....
It was amusing to note that " Left had promised bad session for govt" ......
helloooooooo, LEFT is part of government, this is ridiculous and it can happen only in india......!!!!!!

NDA, please ensure not a single day is carried out in parliament, this government doesnt listen to anyone so why give illusion that it does.... president returned OOP bill, opposition requested to drop it, but GOVT ( LEFT inclusive) have sent same bill......

I am disappointed with my country that we chose so poorly when it came to government( Bomb blast, LET in indian air force, security leak, etc etc).... :(

Country is going to Dogs
by VIJAY on Jul 25, 2006 02:18 AM  Permalink
the parliament has become a big joke. terrorists are attacking the country left and right and ordinary citizens are getting killed and parliament closes as a mark of respect of a leader- what a sham

just close the parlament permanently as it is become a sham- a place where great leaders like lal bahadur shastri, sarveppalli radhakrishan, subash chandra bose, nehru etc sat we today have crooks like lalu, corrupt and politiking leaders like arjun and natwar singh, proxy pm sonia siting in the same halls- it ia a disgrace to our past leaders

why not just close parliament for one day for the death of each solider/policement/civilian death anywhere in the country and parliament will have to be closed for 100 years for each year of these statistics. this atleast will save the country a lot of money which we can use to finance fight against terrorists etc
