Dear Shenoy, I agree with you on this matter. Take example of Kanishka, worst air crime before 9/11 and stance of Indian govt on that matter. Guilty are roaming free and sufferers are still making rounds of Indian Officials in Canada and India. They have become Milking Cows for both govts. Sikhs had a big lobby for last 20 years and till Steven Harper govt came in they were influencing everybody from PM to Chief Justice. Conservative govt has ordered probe but that too will proove to be infutile due to apathetic approach of govt who does't wants to annoy Sikhs and loose votes. In this era of religionism people can go to hell, votes are at top priority. This a SHAME. Smae things were happening when Alexander invaded India. In last 2500 years nothing has changed. Same Ambi's and same Nands are ruling. I think writing about this again a waste of time for you and me. You wrote, I read it and commented, who in govt will read this and how many people will have effect of this. People will always support who can take care of their taps and illegal constructions and power connections. Politicians will always work for the people who donate them money. May God Bless e'body
Its a fantastic article. no other authors have the courage to write the truth. But he shows his courage and professional ethics. This articles shows the hidden powers inside the country
Read the article you posted at rediff site with the URL being "http://in.rediff.com/news/2006/jul/24flip.htm"
It was indeed a good article you wrote after being sitting quitely in London and observing things happening here in India. I was unable to gather the gist of your article. I was clear for one thing that here the police should get more rights but the comments from Shahi Imam which you mentioned specifically were the one which pointed in negative directions though there were comments like "If they are responsible then we will talk to them, tell them that they do more harm to the cause of Islam and to Muslims in India through their actions". I am not defending his comments but just want to share my views with you.
What I would say is why to do what others are already doing, I am talking about the blame game. Why not show some good things we say about each other and then fight the cause for what we ALL want a solution for?
I am not an author neither a writer but wanted to reply for this mail of yours.
Hope you take this in the positive of senses.

Hi, This is not a single or first article of this kind. We have seen so many articles which pin points becaus of whom we are facing terrorism. It is none other than our greate vote bank politicians. I doubt even god can not save India from terrorist attacks until we have such so called secular people. These secular people are supporting only some comunities. Why they can't take it serious when thousonds of innocient people die every year in Kashmir? Why they want to safe gaurd only one community people when it is proved again and again that those are disturbing entire nation's peace. I don't tell every one in that community is culprit. But at least 30- 40% are supporting to terrests by allowing them to stay with them. Why can't they inform to police when they found such people in their areas? If they really need peace, they would have informed about the culprits when they found them in their areas. There are only 2 solutions now.
1. Govt. should take over all religious schools(including hindu)-teach to pride India
2. Attack on POK to clean the terrest camps (like what Isrel is doing now). Because Pak will never clean these camps, as it want to see disturbed India.
We all know that "encounter" killings and custodial torture are all too common in the Indian police system. Niceties such as abstaining from profiling are still a long way off. The blasts in Mumbai were a heinous crime and the police should do all that is (legally) possible to arrest those behind it. At the same time, to suggest that the police are being held in check by human rights safeguards is laughable.
What we need is:
*more legal and procedural training for the police so that cases are not thrown out of court on technicalities and due to lack of evidence
*faster court system
*tougher sentences - sentences in, for example the US, are much longer for similar crimes
*safeguards against political interference whether from Mulayam or Modi
*more accountability and less complacency from official agencies like the railways. If it took them just three days to install CCTV's after the blasts, why did they dither for two years before that?
As to your views on illegal immigrants, why don't you refer to them as "overflowing refuse" in any conversation while you are in England and gauge the response that you get.
TVR Shenoy has hit the nail tight on the head. Lets fight our own battles ourselves rather than asking others to intervene(which they wont anyway!) Its a matter of survival and doing nothing at this stage will lead us to major troubles in the future.
The naxalites are the most serious internal security threat according to the PM. They regularly blow up Police and civilians all over AP. Yesterday some of these people were shot dead by the police. Now there is a demand for a Judicial enquiry and an assurance has been given promptly to examine this demand!
If you are an honest citizen, you can be shot dead by any group that has declared war on the state. But if members of any of these groups are shot at - Human rights activist, communist, mullahs etc etc will ask for a judicial probe and punsihment to even a police personnel - forget about lone civilian who may act in self defence.
Let him try. Let anybody try. Ths country will never go back to the Muslims. The way they treat their women and their fellow beings is just an example of their balant disregard for fellow beings. There is no wonder too. The seed of fundamentalism is thrown into the minds of each child in Madrassas at a very young age. This is a primal religion and its practitioner a primal being. A Terrorist.
