The Centre and the Haryana government each announced Rs 2 lakh for Prince.
by Nagendra Pratap Singh on Jul 24, 2006 08:28 AM  Permalink

If the boy is healthy then there is no need to spend money on him. Maybe this money can be given to some local university students who can make a video etc on safety around home and farms etc. Then it can shown on TV and before the start of movies in halls.

After all though the result has been good this time, we don't want more people getting in danger

5-yr-old rescued from 50-feet pit after 2 days
by Malati Naidu on Jul 24, 2006 08:21 AM  Permalink

Its a good JOB done by the Army and the local people to save the little boy. But my question is how can oen ensure this doesn't happen again ?? What precautions are the authority taking to ensure such places are guarded properly so that a young boy doesn't wander off while playing. I think its a lesson learnt and a system needs to be put in place or I won't be surprised to hear more of such events and all might not be as lucky as Prince. The 2 lakh the local govt has given should be fined to the contractor who is involved in this work and didn't take necessary precautions to guard this borewell.

When the whole media reports the depth of the pit(?) is 60 ft you mention it is 50 feet.

The whole media is hyped on this issue and blown out of proportion. The idiotic part of it si the gove announcing for cash reward not to the recueor but to the rescued! Prioroties are mixed up.

Matter of Princely pride
by Hemanth Kumar Pandharpurkar on Jul 24, 2006 05:43 AM  Permalink

It was really heartening to read that Prince, the five year old son of a farm - hand was succesfully rescued two days after his fall into a narrow pit.
In a country with over 1/5 th of the worlds population and still one of the poorest, human lives, especially of the poor, seemed to have no value. The story of prince proves that there is a still a soul in our beleaguered country.

English channel/tunnel connecting England and France was dug up on the work carried out from both the ends. The meeting point was in error of few mms in length of over 100 KMs.
defence authrities claim they have latest equpment but cannot align a tunnel of few meters.

a few hundred years indian rag tag armis were losing to british army as lathies and stone were not adequate to fight newton and watts gunnary.

today gap remains the same. India fire missiles which were fired by US in 1976 and that with critical equipment impoted as evident from news and publicity items appearing in foreign press

as one media channel puts it: mera bharat nakkaam

good for vierwership and saving of child but a poor exhiibition of technology prowness of army and state which is ridden with terror alerts.but requires 50 hours to pull a child.

State chief minister had nothing better to do than to show himself on TV.

This little champ is survived from almost narrowly between life and death.May God bless ANGEL .Little Prince is very lucky to be born in BHARAT and has stolen big hearts of everybody no matter where and how far this news has been spreaded. I wish how would be nice if somebody had glance of an eye to another angel of 4 years old named ieti who was playing and slipped into hole...all his friends were scared and all of them ran to their homes...nobody informed ieti's parents....eiti's father officially went to field duties of survey of India department.Eiti was one of our friend's circle's angel. Eiti's Mother rushed to me for help....But we found He was vanished and it was too late to rescue him. heart broken and pulling strings out of heart is unexplainable in words. Today We thank to our God first then the media who saw him first and then all the supporters including Zee TV news room who were providing live scene.May God bless Prince and congratulations to his families as well as all of them who were praying for his fruitful gifted beautiful life. This will ever remain in our heart in heart. ..Shakti chadda. Mrs& mr. Chamoli from Dehradun.Kimati,Rashmi,Tripti , Nishtha NY

5 yrs old rescued from 50 ft
by Asheesh on Jul 24, 2006 01:55 AM  Permalink

Kudos to all those involved. COngrats to the Army, the Govt, the doctors and of course the parents. To be frank, this was a rare good story emanating from India in recent days. It was heartening to see how the country, the Govt, the civic admn, the media all came together to pray and help the boy.
Being as one, helping each other, and the Govt responding - alas this becomes a trend. Most heartening was the fact that a single life was not considered a small thing, and it was treated like a tragedy to be taken head on, immediately. Hopefully, we can rspond to such profesionalism each time any ONE of us is in danger. I am sure we can come out of any problem. Lessons leart -

1. A single life is as important as 100 lives
2. Timely action, responsive administration, together with the military and scientific expertise, can do wonders

Let's try to extend this to every sphere of our lives

Again, congrats to all who made this possible. Great acheievement.
