criticizing govt. for blocking sites using security as a cover
by Pradeep Kumar on Jul 22, 2006 12:29 PM  Permalink

This govt. or that matter any govt. which have ruled indian state have failed to do anything with regard to public security.Half of nations security is at their doorstep. All these soft cushioned, very well guarded polititions can do is talk...they don't have the balls to go out there and complete the task. Nothing is going to be done by this or any future govt. cuz only that person knows what it feels like to loose somebody near and dear. These politicians are so well protected that they'r not going to know what a common man in india goes through.
Change the entire law that governs india today, that's the only way out. Make people in the top posts accountable for their actions. No point criticising the govt. or the people who govern cuz it's a circus same old faces will come out in different clothes, in new parties.

Indians are not stupid
by Roy on Jul 22, 2006 11:33 AM  Permalink

The move to ban a few websites and blogs is totally unwarranted. I personally believe today the average Indian who has access to the internet is educated and is not easily mislead.

Every person has the freedom to express his views. As a reader of someone's view one should apply one's own mind as to the validity of such views. The real substance of democrecy will prevail only when the expressor and the reader or either of them act with resposibility.

blocking the web site after mumbai blast picture .
by Devendra Kumar on Jul 22, 2006 08:01 AM  Permalink

Government is doing what should have been done to keep peace in the country... freedom of expression on internet is being misused by so many 'IN(SNAE)' persons what to talk of so called Humen activists.

Govt is partially right in blocking sites.
by Sudhanshu. G. Singh on Jul 21, 2006 02:47 PM  Permalink

The govt should instead...allow the bloggers to operate normally.....but, they should have filters defined and should trap the suspecious elements.

This way the Govt or intelligence will get many new codes and terminologies to look at and crack them before-hand.

I am ready to offer my services voluntarily if required to develop any such thing. Altough I know our country is rich in resource to develop any such kind of applications.

Proud India.

Sudhanshu. G. Singh.

Cease the Censorship!
by Manosij on Jul 21, 2006 02:20 PM  Permalink

What is the point of having a democracy if our attitudes are totalitarian? This is not China or Saudi Arabia we are talking about. Censorship in any form is an abominable form of repression that is completely unwelcome in any free society.
