If that's the reason then rediff forums should be blocked first!
by sharetheworld on May 25, 2007 02:56 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Going by that logic, rediff forums should be blocked first which have so many hateful, violent and abusive messages all over!! Then block all the fundamentalist websites (BJP, Congress and the likes).. why just some bloggers!

Blogless in Mumbai. Clueless in Delhi.

Oh, brave new India
That has such babus and netas int!

(With apologies to Miranda in The Tempest, Act V, Scene 1)

I have always suspected that, no matter who be in power, under the veneer of democracy, the Indian State a Jurassic Age continuation of the British Raj tends to be callous, rapacious and ruthless in its dealings with the citizens. Now Im beginning to fear it has turned mindless, skirting dangerously close to senility.

I am also totally confused by the decision of DoT. There are so many questions are arising in my minds.
What is the intention of Indian government behind the decision of blocking blog websites? Do they really want to serve the nation\\\'s security or want to make little diversion to reach these websites by using proxy sites like inblog.net?
If our government wants to serving motherland by cutting off the way of communication of extremist groups, then how we can still accessing all those banned websites within a minute? If govt. is thinking that they have done a great job, its wrong. Fact is that, they are technically failed. Anti-social elements are still communicating through the same websites which are banned. If they really want to serve our motherland then why have they left behind the map of back door and if they want to divert our path then why are they raving about national security?

UNREASONABLE!
by Sara on Jul 20, 2006 06:41 PM  Permalink

It is highly unreasonable and surprising that such a thing can happen in the land of the biggest democracies!

How can all bloggers suffer just because some blogs had certain information that the government feels should be blocked!

The government should take the initiative of looking for such blogs and blocking these only instead of blocking all the other blogs...

there is no use in blocking the blogs ... infact the govt. should take steps to punish the guilty for the bomb blasts ...

There is absolutely anything possible in this country. No surprises left for me. If tomorrow taliban comes and proposes to buy the country and if the politicians sell it, it would just be another piece of news for me.

No wonder Hindus are being portrayed as big threat to this nation. I think we should get ready for a full blown Emergency
