SPIRIT OF MUMBAI
by Manjula on Jul 15, 2006 12:59 PM  Permalink

What bullshit people are talking about "spirit of mumbai". Try this with some family who has lost their husband, their father, their son. Infact we are so immune to all the happenings that we cease to be human. Everyday someone is dying in Kashmir...is there any solution for that till now? Did not tamilnadu come back to normalcy after Tsunami where lakhs and lakhs people died? Have we forgotten Kumabakonam tragedy where the very next day school children went to school? Then why so much hype about MUMBAI? It is just that life goes on and nothing stops for anybody .Either we have become machines or we have become too philosophical and take life as it comes.

Does it matter?
by s on Jul 14, 2006 09:06 PM  Permalink

I saw what happened in Mumbai and other places like Delhi, varanasi, kashmir over the years.

What happened to people, who planted those bombs? Are they caught or still out. No one knows. No one cares.
Every one talks about spirit of Mumbai and how its back to work next day. BUT WHY ? This is the reason, all politicians ann the system takes the public for granted.
No one is accountabele for. Every one will give their speeches and then forget about it after one week. This will never change unless people come forward and demand their safety and accountability of people who did it.

It is good to have strong spirit in the country but people should not be so cold that they are merely votes for politian and nothing more. There is no value of persons life in India but people have to stand togeather and change the thniking philosophy.

i was not a witness and currently reside in USA after marriage , but since my sister who studies Bio-medical engn. in Bandra and is currently in Tranining process at a company in Mahim, luckily got home early that day since her boss was on leave , else she is around 6.20-6.30 at Mahim staion everyday and was home that time that D' day ..I came to know abt the blast in CNN and and was shocked and my heart was beating soo fast till i heard her voice.. and thanked God !!
But i feel soo sorry for the innocent kids who have lost their beloved father at this young age... we all know what a FATHER figure is.. i feel sorry for the women who have lost their beloved husbands.. for the moms who lost their Sons and daughters who were yet to see the Real Life after college .
I just say.. keep up ur spirits .. The Mumbaikars r with u .. and God will always help u ..
Everything can come to stop only if, the people who r behind it themselves realise their ruthless act..
lets pray to God for that and invite peace..
I know i can't do much sitting this far but, will surely pray for the victims and their families .
MAY THEIR SOUL REST IN PEACE..
It's really sad that such incidents happen.

Help the victims
by Ramesh on Jul 14, 2006 04:33 PM  Permalink

Can we have a place where the victims can share the procedure for claiming compensation announced by various agencies. Can people in power help them by telling where to go, when to go, what documents to take, whom to meet so that the paper work can be done.

Can we have help from people in state govts/railways and central govt. to volunteer and do their bit

Mumbai Spirit
by Sony on Jul 14, 2006 04:28 PM  Permalink

We all feel really shattered on this incedent. Here every news channel is talking about the SPIRIT of MUMBAI. In a way it is true that nobody stayed at home and came back to work within 24 hours. But it raises 1 questions in my mind. Do people of Mumbai have any other option than this? What will and what can they do by not returning to work ?
Another matter is what happend to the 1993 Bomb Blast Case ? How many are hanged or got sever sentences? Nobody is really b othered about these issues. The one who has lost a family member or a loved one will curse and feel the actual effect of the blast for the rest of life.
Mumbai was rated as the most rude city. Why should and how can the people of mumbai be polite if they are affected by such blasts after regular intervals and nobody is punished for the crime ? Will you forgive and be polite if you are affected ?
People showd courage at the time of crisis, but who will not ? And people of mumbai are habituated to such situations.
The media and NGOs and common people should take over the role of investigators and get the terrorists who have done this. No politician and no police force is going to do it.
May GOD Bless MY MUMBI
