Terrorism - Shishir Ghate
by sunil on Jul 13, 2006 07:24 PM  Permalink

I wish the so called leaders sitting at Delhi were travelling in the same train. At least some near or dear one. Alas ! They are humble public servant and how would they commute by train ? One also wishes that at least few of them would share Shishir's and fellow citizens feelings. Hats off to you Shishir for conveying our thoughts so lucidly!!!

India needs to be ruthless
by Vineet Jain on Jul 13, 2006 07:23 PM  Permalink

I totally agree with what has been said in this article. Though my religion does not permits me for violence but to stay quiet against something evil is again a crime.

And I would like to go a step ahead, if our Government is INCAPABLE of doing anything let's take the responsibility in our hands. We are peace loving, we don't want to kill anyone but if someone tries to bow our head down, then we will have to teach them a lesson so that they never forget the lesson learnt and never try to do that mistake again. We love humanity and we respect life thatz why in our history we have never attacked anyone. But now enough has been said and enough has been done. Let's destroy anyone who is against us and our peace loving people, whosoever they are, whatever they are and wherever they are.

I am ready for that, I am ready to leave this job of high income, I am ready to leave all the pleasures of life, I am ready to come back to India from this so-called comfort of foreign life. I am ready to kill and I am ready to die, even though my religion does not permits this...

India needs to be ruthless
by Nikunj Sanghvi on Jul 13, 2006 07:22 PM  Permalink

We are a nation that gained independence through non-violence. Ever since, we have mistakenly believed that non-violence is the answer to the Hindu Muslim issue. This has never allowed us to be ruthless in our fight against acts of war or terrorism.

We need to learn from Israel in how to respond to threats from its neighbours. They are waging war against the Palestinians and the Lebanese for the release of three soldiers. We lost 185 of our citizens and we think we know who is responsible. So let's go and wage war against the people or the country that is harbouring them.

Are we going to punch the bully or turn the other cheek?

India needs to be ruthless
by K H Subrahmaniam on Jul 13, 2006 07:21 PM  Permalink

God helps those who help themselves. The Mahabaratha war was won because the Pandavas with Krishna's assistance chose to fight for their rights. In the West, there is a definitive feeling that India is a soft state, that Indians talk the talk, but rarely walk the walk. It is time now for India to follow a no mercy policy against Islamic terrorists. Divine help will come when India acts.

Muslims should come out!
by Nidhi on Jul 13, 2006 07:21 PM  Permalink

Indian-Muslims should come out of their homes and proclaim to the nation and to the terrorists and Al-qaida that they are with the nation, and shun this terrorism on innocent people and the jihadi call. When they can get united to protest against Bush visit, why not for this? THe muslim organisations should hold rallies condemning bombay terrorist attacks, the rest of the nation is losing confidence from their silence, please do that for the sake of the country, for peace in the country!

India needs to be ruthless

The article is timely. It is high time we follow Israel's counter actions after terrorist attacks. India should tell the USA and the west in clear terms that most terrorist acts in India nay the world have some connection with Pakistan.

We need vengeance !!
by Jyotsna on Jul 13, 2006 07:18 PM  Permalink

This is an article very well written. I agree with what the writer has to say. It is high time the terrorists should know that we have the capacity and ability to crush them. Just because we do not take any stringent action against them, they continue to dare and do these inhuman things. Forget the human rights, what do these people have to say when blasts like this happen and many innocent people, common man is killed. Does these human rights come of any use at this time. The Prime Minister just issues a statement that no one can make India kneel, but what are we doing? are we not kneeling, submissively by not taking any action ? Inspite of knowing who does this and where they are, we choose to keep quiet and do nothing. It is high time, really. This is the time to save the nation and the future generation from these inhuman and barbaric acts.

Well Said!!!
by Nitin on Jul 13, 2006 07:18 PM  Permalink

Only Israel understands this means of dealing with terrorists. After the Mogadishu raid and after enumerating their policy on terrorisim, El Al has never had an aircraft hijacked. Even now, they did not dare to kill the soldiers but just kidnapped them.

Witness the wrath of a small nation isolated by the world and surrounded by its enemies. Israel's enemies may make threatening noises, but inwardly they quake before trying anything like this.

Let us go after the leaders, the ISI if need be and get them when they think they are safe at home. The only way to deal with terrorists is terror!
